[Newer: Peter Zidek's Letter to Nathan Hansen] [Older: Thank you - Congressman John Kline - MN CD2 - HR 1207]

Campaign for Liberty - Meeting Minutes - August 5, 2009

Note that this meeting also included a MN CD2 Republican Liberty Caucus meeting.

I. Greeting - Terry McCall

II. Invocation - Bill Paulson

III. Pledge - Greg O'Connor

IV. Special Guest - Lt. Col., Retired - Joe Repya - Eagan, MN

Joe gave a great explanation of his reasons for leaving the Republican Party of MN after being elected a

Delegate to 2 Republican Nat'l Conventions and running for MN GOP Chair in 2007. Joe and Deb have

together donated countless hours and 10's of thousands of dollars to the Republican Party. Joe sees a

serious abandonment of the grass roots by the Party in favor of a small group of major donors who demand

that their handpicked candidates be selected for leadership & office. Joe spoke out early about the

disgraceful mistreatment of Ron Paul supporters at the 2008 MN GOP State Convention. We first thank Joe

for his service to our country, and to our party. We wish he would stay, but understand the principled reasons

for his leaving. We wish you well Joe, in any endeavors lucky enough to find you.

V. MN CD2 Republican Liberty Caucus Meeting

A. Norann Dillion gave an impassioned speech about MNRLC being 'The Conscience of the

Republican Party'. All Liberty lovers should also be members of this August group which as a

political entity can and does endorse Liberty candidates. MNRLC stands for Individual Rights,

Limited Government, and Free Enterprise. Candidates can seek endorsement by signing the

MNRLC 'Liberty Compact'. Go to www.rlcmn.org

to sign up today!

B. Rep. Tom Emmer, candidate for Governor, and MNRLC endorsed, spoke about the need to limit

government in MN. He remembers not so long ago when '3M, Honeywell, and IBM were the top

employers ' in our state. Today the top employers are all government agencies. As a small

business owner and part time legislator he sees how 'rising taxes, increased mandates and

unnecessary regulation are killing the entrepreneurial spirit' in MN. Tom has 'never voted for a tax

increase nor taken a dime of pork barrel spending for his district'. Emmer was the first MN

legislator to offer a 10th Amendment Sovereignty bill. He is one of only 5 House members to be

honored by LEA for his Conservative voting record in 2009. www.EmmerForGovernor.com

A $500 matching gift was offered by one of our members for the first $500 donated to Emmer's run.

Contact me if you send money to the Emmer campaign and we will see that it us matched.
