604 has got a couple of dems...good to see. As well, McCain is a big surprise...I'd almost rather not see him on it. He'll probably lead the charge to neuter it and then take credit for it if it ever passes.

Wow! Start using this list of S.604 co-sponsors to pressure your senators into getting on board. Referred peer pressure works.

I live in WI. This is the note I just sent Sen. Fiengold.

I just want to thank you very much. First of I would like to say I did vote for Bush twice, to my shame, and am a very conservative person. I am a reformed (Calvinist) Baptist if that help any to show how opposite we are on a lot of issue, i.e. abortion ect...Well I am thanking you with my whole heart for your co sponsorship of S604 the "Sunshine Act” This is a very important issue and I am very glad someone of your stature has also decide to fight the good fight! Please talk with Sen. Kohl. I have emailed him several time and it would seems to me that Goldman Sachs must be one of his biggest donors, Sen. Kohl does not like the idea of auditing the Fed.

Once more I thank you for your services. You are one of the few lonely voices fighting for freedom and liberty within in the Senate.

bachristian,,, don't get TOO over zealous with the "few lonely voices...." Sen Feingold has done some good things but overall he tends to be a progressive, democracy, big government proponent also... but yes, today is a day to celebrate his wise choice.

Yes but for libert he is spot on. He was the Sen to vote against the Teason(Patriot) Act. 99-1. That seems to be a longely voice to me? He always stands up and lead the fight against illegal wire tapping ect. He does defend "freedom and liberty within in the Senate."

Yes I understand he is a statist though. It does not mean that we thank him and come together on some issues.

This is great news!

So what can we do about Rep Kind?

All four of our US Reps here in Arkansas have co-sponsored. Now Blanche Lincoln has co-sponsored! This leaves Mark Pryor as the lone holdout here in Arkansas! 5 down 1 to go here in Arkansas!

Here's the numbers for everyone to call our Senators' offices to request they co-sponsor S. 604: http://senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

McCain and Feingold! Well its official they are using this bill to simply "audit" the federal reserve...for a bigger agenda. It is time to get ready for a NEW currency, an International Reserve, and a World Bank.

Auditing The Federal Reserve Gains More 'Supporters."

Of course the unConstitutional coup wants to find ways to undermine the process. Who are the ones who will do their bidding in the guise of being supporters?

Almost all politicians can be chameleons and change to fit into their surroundings. But there are some with principles.

In this period of transition most are chameleons, with a few principled ones.

Here is the true test: Who among these elected representatives will go to the media and insist that it educate the public about the corruption that exists in the secretive central bank? All of the sudden we would know how few are true to their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

Regardless, the movement forward may inspire a renegade reporter to go outside the boundaries set by the unConstitutional coup on its media lapdogs and educate the masses about the crimes of the Federal Reserve.

We can only hope. The future is interestingly unknown!

An understanding of Austrian Economics might have you looking differently at your job, and viewing it as much less of a "waste of [your] time."

After all, if it is truly thus, then why do you still have the job?

If you call Senator Lugar's Indy office 317-226-5555 you will likely get a guy who answers the phone and is very rude. He will sigh when you mention the fed, tell you S. 604 is "dead in the water" and claim no politicians with any credibility support the bill (I loved calling him and telling him McCain signed on as a co sponsor).

Anyways, He's getting sick of our calls...I say FLOOD their office even more. TELL THEM EVERY REPUBLICAN IN CONGRESS IS CO SPONSORING THE IDENTICAL BILL and the REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT IS CO SPONSORING THE SENATE BILL AND LUGAR SHOULD TOO.

If you are outside of Indiana, say you go to Ball State University (Muncie, IN 47306) and you address is ________ Noyer, Lafollette, or Dehority complex. Pick a # to fill in the blank. Call today, he was in the office as of 1:10 p.m. and answers the phone every time I call!

McCain signing on doesn't surprise me. He's a career politician and knows that this bill has overwhelming support. He'd be stupid to opposed it after we got all 8 Representatives on board with HR 1207. I'm sure he'll try to claim credit for it when he runs for reelection. That being said, it's still good to have him on board as it takes us that much closer to victory! Now we just have to get Kyl and we'll have 100% for AZ!

Yes I agree. This is my vocation. The doctrine of vocation is something that has been lost in our culture. This doctrine is what made the "protestant work ethic."

Where I work it seems a lot like Office Space. Are there not better things to do than just push electrons around?

Every single job has great importence from house mom's, to janitors to pastor to kings. Every job you must do for the glory of the Lord and in service for your neighbor. God does not need our good works our neighbor's do and this is what makes any job important.

Sorry about getting a little theological there. I was really just trying to make a good excuse for my sloppy typing.

Just called my Congressman - AGAIN - Arcuri in NY
202-225-3665 - any other calls would be great!

I was told by a Sen Gillibrand (NY) staffer that her staff is looking over S.604 and no decision has been made.
202-224-4451

We're making big progress folks let's keep it up! Peer pressure with so many sponsors building should definitely help.

For New Yorkers:

Sen. Gillibrand's staffer (whom I spoke with earlier today) seemed generally unaware of the bill and gave me run-of-the-mill responses (i.e. "we'll pass along your message." I tried explaining the bill to the staffer, but no significant dialogue was developed.

Sen. Schumer's office seemed significantly more interested. The staffer I spoke with said I was the first person to call him about this today and was very curious what the bill was about. I explained that given Senator Schumer's track-record in favor of government transparency, this would be a great bill to support in order to discover how bail-out money has been spent and how the Federal Reserve affects the economy in general.

I urge the C4L members from NY to continue calling these two Senators. It seems, at least at face value, that they've received very, very few calls.

Old Goat McCain???? I'm holding my excitement. Everyone should be aware these individuals are signing on to some how amend and take the teeth out of the bill. When both the House and Senate start debating the bill, we should relentlessly contact them and tell them to vote for the bill AS IS! I like this bill because it will be extremely hard to hide something in a 2 page bill.

HINTS WHEN CALLING/emailing SENATORS about 604:

*Mention the other representatives in your state who are sponsoring the bill.

*If its a republican mention that John McCain, the candidate that senator likely supported during the election, is a co sponsor.

*Most importantly, mention to republican senators that every house republican is co sponsoring the bill.

What 2 page bill?

What 2nd page?

I doubt McCain's reasons to sign on. Perhaps it just a way to bash Obama.

“Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time, and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out, and by the eternal God, I will rout you out.” - Andrew Jackson

I think it is also helpful to point out that even though I think McCain is terrible; his presence on this bill is worth noting, and I would not be surpised if other Republicans follow in suit due to him being on the bill.

I have been lurking at C4L for awhile, but I had to register to thank Feingold publicly here in addition to the email I just sent his office.

Wow, now I am off to provide Sen. Kohl with a little encouragement to demonstrate some leadership. I am proud of WI for scoring a spot in the 1st 15% of Senators to sign on. Way to go Sen. Feingold!
