Ken Cuccinelli for VA Attorney General
I had the privielege of attending the VA Republican Convention this past weekend. Though I am usually wary of Republicans and their so-called "conservatism", I left the convention with a new hope for the restoration of Constitutional principles in my home state of Virginia. Bob McDonnell and Bill Bolling, the two nominees for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, are good candidates, and though wishy-washy when it comes to their conservatism, are far better than anyone the Democrats could put up. But the candidate for Virginia Attorny General, Ken Cuccinelli, restored my hope in the GOP, and should give all Virginians a hope for bringing our state back to Constitutional roots, both state and national. I will support him 100% these next few months, and I encourage you to do so. "If you want an attorney general with a record of defending the constitution as it was written, I need your support. Constitutions don't evolve. They are either amended or they stay the same, and that's how I'll defend it!" Here is a candidate who spent the first half of his speech at the GOP convention criticizing the GOP and their abandonment of their core principles. Here is a candidate who flies "Don't Tread on Me" flags as he speaks. Here is a candidate who speaks of "vigorously supporting the rule of law", a strict constructionist Constitutional interpretation, and the support of the founders' vision. He is not perfect. He is not Ron Paul. But for a position as big as attorney general of Virginia, and a race that looks to be able to sweep all three positions, turning the state from dark blue to bright red, supporting him is the easiest and best way to continue the rEVOLution begun by Dr. Ron Paul two years ago. I encourage you to watch his speech at the convention.
