This past Saturday 4/25, thousands of people across the country held rallies at every Federal Reserve Bank. Here's what happened in Philadelphia

I've read tons of great feedback for alot of the rallies across the country. New York, LA, Dallas, Boston, Denver...but I was at the Philadelphia rally to End the Fed.  This was one of the best events I've been to yet, all my biases aside. The first PAtriot I saw on Saturday when I parked, was Rob Pepe, needless to say the day was headed in the right direction.

We took a cab to City Hall with two other people headed for the rally. Of course we hooked our driver up with an HR 1207 flyer and told him we need his support.  A few hundred people later, signs were everywhere, as you can see one person had a big pinata shaped like a rat on a noose, it was quite the sight.

I tossed the dice and ran through traffic to make sure everyone at the red light had had a flyer and knew what we were screaming about. Then at 11:22am we marched from City Hall, down 11 blocks, this time in the heat (did anyone notice spring was 5 minutes long in Philly?) to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

Once again, the Officers of the Philadelphia Police Department were a huge help throughout the whole day.  I heard someone was talking to the Officers about LEAP (Law Enforcment Against Prohibition) and even gave a few of them LEAP's 12 minute DVD.

We made it to the Federal Reserve Building via Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the National Constitution Center (which is right in between the US Mint and the Fed Building), and our man with the megaphone did what only he does best...

After skipping lunch, we got set up in the National Constitution Center for the rally portion of the day. We opened up with a screening of "Overview of America," then dove right into the day's agenda. We had a premium list of speakers, or as one attendee put it, a "Cadillac" (he was old, give him a break, caddy's used to be the best) line up of speakers who promised to offer real solutions rather than rhetoric. Ask anyone in attendance, they delivered! We had a live webcast, the video is still being put together but you should be able to see all the speakers online this week. However the line up went as follows:

  • Michael Salvi - intro/mc
  • Rob Pepe - campaign for liberty / HR 1207
  • Tom Lingenfelter - becoming a committee person
  • Lynn Landes - voting security
  • Rep. Sam Rohrer - state sovereignty
  • Bill O'Neill - signature gathering
  • Larkin Rose - thinking outside the cage
  • Rob Gray - opencurrency.org
  • Walter Reddy - committees of safety
  • Michael Badnarik - wind up

In between speakers I gave away a bunch of Ron Paul 2008 sweatshirts, just in time for summer...of 2009; four 1 oz silver rounds (courtesy of Rob Gray from AOCS), DVD's, literature, needless to say, it was awesome. We collected tons of signatures for HR 1207 for most of the surrounding districts, got our foot soldiers ready, and we're all set and ready to hand deliver them, all suited up and smiley faced.

We finished the night off with dinner/social time with most of the speakers, and some of PA's finest patriots, at Philadelphia's historic City Tavern, built in 1773, and it's where the revolution really began...at a bar.  The conversations were incredible, we had a ball just hanging out and being ourselves. The picture below is just one of the three tables we took up out at the restaurant.

This weekend was nothing more than a way to build momentum and launch into action this week. We've got alot of the PA reps covered, all because of everyone's dedication, commitment, bravery, and love for freedom. Thanks to all the speakers for sharing their stories, plans, advice, and for coming out to help deliver this message. Moreover, thanks to everyone who was a part of this weekend, the organizers did a great job, but if it wasn't for everyone who came, it would've been nothing, let's keep it moving!

EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS TO "Truth, Freedom, and Prosperity" for organizing this event, you guys are the best there is!!!

Love and Liberty,

Mike

How was the Philly End the Fed Rally?

"full of great info, they talked about the basics and how to "clean house." We need to change the people that are ruining our country and we all had a wakening of how the govt should be working and what may happen if we don't do something about the ruling masses"

"It was great to be able to mingle with people with the same views. Sometimes I feel that I'm the only one that cares about the path that this country is headed. Saturday proved me wrong!!!!!!!!"

"What an amazing day! The organizers did a fantastic job! We are grateful to have such dedicated leaders. Thanks for all that you do!"

"MUCH better than the rally on April 18th. Less "Religious Right" and more non-partisan, a better ad-hoc campaign with more focus. Really enjoyed the speakers and the enthusiasm all around...Most of all, appreciated the emphasis that it is not enough to "rally" and "feel good," but that action is needed as well, that this is not going to go away without putting ourselves on the line."

"What a great day! The energy of the crowd (from so many diverse viewpoints) was fantastic. In other words, there wasn't any political partisan bullsh#t. HR 1207 is a good start to getting us out of this mess. But remember that HR 833 is the ultimate solution. So "keep your boots on the ground" and stay in active mode."

C4L Mass Action Day Tuesday 4/28/09

"Don't forget to participate in the National Petition Push tomorrow and visit your representative's local office to drop off any petitions you may have gathered in support of auditing the Fed!! Volunteers have been busy all day at our national headquarters getting over 47,000 of your petitions ready to take to Congress."
