Friday December 4th Dr Paul will be speaking between 11:30am and 1pm at Hayden Lawn. Then Dr. Paul's new book "END THE FED" ...will be sold directly after the speeches at a location right next to the speaking venue. Dr. Paul will also be signing copies of his latest book. We would love to see a ton of liberty loving people there from all different areas of the political spectrum. ♥ Tyler Miller Young Americans for Liberty President |

I recently received an email from a fellow Local Coordinator. In part, she wrote: "We used to have neighborhoods back when we were kids, when mothers stayed home and kids played outside after school, but that world is long gone. I think this is one of the reasons it's such a hard slog. Some of us have been going door to door with petitions; people don't even answer the door when you knock, even when they're obviously at home. This is happening now, more than it was, but it's slowed by the inherent social decay." I responded to this Local Coordinator, and I hope this will give all of our Local Coordinators food for thought and encouragement. Here is my message: I grew up the same way and have fond memories of my neighborhood. I agree that the social structure has decayed, so we need to re-build the social structure first. Here's what I'm doing - My first step was to decide to be a "neighborhood watchdog" of sorts. I attended neighborhood meetings, drove the neighborhood to see if there were things that might hurt the value of property, and counted how many homes are being sold on the market. I started talking to my neighbors during my trips around the neighborhood - would wave, stop the car, or stop to chat about these things when I walked. I had a pizza party at my house for several of my neighbors and we discussed the board actions of the homes association. I walked door to door to get email addresses so I could send tips, news and alerts. I now have 125 email addresses and send a monthly newsletter. I have a crime alert sent to me so I can let my neighbors know about crime happening in and around our neighborhood. We had a board election for our homes association and some of us walked door to door. Almost all of our neighbors were happy to see us. Two of our candidates won and we had a huge turnout at our annual meeting. My neighbors email me with tips and their opinions and I've got a much better idea of who might be with us based on our conversations. The value of this cannot be under-estimated. I now have 3 solid conservative neighbors that I know will be active with me, and a few others that I'm cultivating. I know they will help me walk the neighborhood and we are building a network here. My next neighborhood meeting will be to talk about how to keep our neighborhood safe and maintain property value - these are things that are important to all of us. There will be food, of course - that always brings 'em in. Note: My next step will be to walk door to door with a survey. It will go something like this: "Hello, again. I'm Deb Wells and live right down the street from you. I will be visiting our government representatives and would like to let them know what is important to you. I have a short survey here....(the survey will contain questions that will let me know who is with us)." Next will come a local candidate forum where we'll have the opportunity to control the debate. * * * * * * * There are different approaches that Local Coordinators use. Some have a "sales" personality - they walk right up, knock on the door, introduce themselves and say "I am the neighborhood representative for Campaign for Liberty" and hand their neighbor a flier, speak eloquently about it, and follow up with another visit. Some take a slower approach like mine. Whatever approach you use, there is no feeling like the first time you wave and speak to a friendly neighbor...you suddenly realize deep in your heart that you will be successful because you have begun rebuilding the social structure. After sending my story to my fellow Local Coordinator, she wrote: Very interesting. Rebuilding the social structure of the neighborhood will of course have inherent value, quite in addition to providing a framework for getting our message across. One could even posit that the whole "need" for big government is because of the breakdown of the neighborhood, along with the breakdown of the family. In earlier times, one's neighbors and family were the "safety net" that is now provided by the government. I agree. It is up to us to build the social structure again and as you begin to do this, soon you will find neighbors who want to help you build, and you'll view your neighborhood and your ability to succeed as a Local Coordinator in a whole different light. Remember: If you know that a person is home but won't open the door, they are probably not interested in their community and more than likely, not interested in voting or making a difference. Spend quality time with friendly neighbors that care - they will become your "army". It doesn't take much to make an impact on the politics in your community. If you've taken the Local Coordinator training, you've already taken a huge step to being an effective leader in your community. Local Coordinator training will equip you with the information and resources you need to make a difference. We've often talked about the three areas of involvement: party involvement, issue involvement and running for office. Well, I've just taken the plunge and have become an office holder. Today I was appointed the Municipal Judge for Casselton. ND laws allow cities smaller than 5000 to have judges who are not attorneys. I am filling an unexpired term, so I will be running for election in June 2010. This is a small position. I will only hear traffic and city ordinance violations (except for 3rd time DUIs.) Court is held two times a month and many times there are no cases to hear. But if anyone remembers the kerfuffle with David Habiger earlier this year, one aspect of his case (the junk cars in his yard) was decided in Casselton's municipal court. So no Kelo vs. New London cases, but maybe smaller, lesser known, Habiger-type cases. This wasn't hard at all. In fact, it was embarrassingly easy. Casselton ran an ad in the paper, I responded and sent in a resume. Now remember, I am a SAHM. I haven't held a real job in 18 years. But I wrote up a resume that listed my political involvement and my community service (I volunteer at the library, local nursing home and have worked a lot in Cub Scouts.) Apparently this was good enough for our City Commission, because I got appointed without an interview, based solely on my resume and my reputation. And now I'll have nine or ten months to further establish my reputation in the community before the next election. I'll also be going to training in Bismarck and be meeting and networking with others in the state and local municipal system. All of this is good experience and will make me more effective for future political races (mine or others I want to help along.) So keep your eyes open. There are lots of boards, commissions and committees you can get appointed to. Some go begging to be filled and all will give you a door into the political process. If a homeschooling mom from rural ND can get appointed as a municipal judge, you can easily do the same or similar. Start today by getting the Coordinator Training. And then attend local city or county council meetings, ask questions and find your place at the table. Tags: holding office, leadership training, Local Politics |

I am sure you have heard the Democrats talking back and forth about who’s Universal Health Care is best and who is going to give more to hard working Americans. But just stop and think for a minute what happens to things when big government gets involved. Remember the federal government created HMOs in 1973. The basic business model of all HMO's is to deny people treatments which they deem as unnecessary, in order to increase profits, which is pure evil. Instead the model should be centered around the doctor. A doctors basic business model benefits by helping the most people, which increases profits. Now keep this in mind as you read about Universal Health Care. Universal Health Care would be a dream come true for the drug and insurance industries. This may seem counter intuitive but once the system is in place, the drug companies will have guaranteed income. Once the contracts between the government and drug companies are setup, no new drug companies will be able to exist. This will allow drug companies to charge anything they want with a guarantee that it will be paid. The federal government will have no choice, either give Americans no health care or pay the ransom to the drug companies. Our objective from the beginning was to determine whether Congressman Boswell (D - Iowa 3) was willing to co-sponsor HR 1207 and we were not going to accept anything other than a definitive yes or no. The first thing our members did was to call the congressman's offices and ask for an answer as to whether or not the Congressman would sign onto the bill as a co-sponsor. We were told that they would pass the message on to the Congressman and that he would get back to us with an answer. We determined that it would be good to let them know that we were serious about getting an answer so we sent out a notice asking our members to meet at the Congressman's office to inform them about HR 1207 and ask for our Congressman to be a co-sponsor of the bill. A group of about 15 Campaign for Liberty members met at the Congressman's office and expressed their concerns about the Federal Reserve System and the lack of accountability when it comes to our government's monetary policy. (See the story here: http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=17050) Our opinions were welcomed by the staff members but we were once again told that the Congressman would be informed of our opinions and they would let us know one way or another where the Congressman stood on the issue. We also happened to have a booth at the county gun show prior to our office visit where we promoted Campaign for Liberty and were able to secure many more petitions asking for the congressman to co-sponsor HR 1207. Within a week or so, some of the members who went to the office received a letter in the mail from the Congressman that basically said he would keep our views in mind if the full house considered the legislation. This sounded like a "no" but we were determined to get a specific answer about whether he was willing to co-sponsor HR 1207. One member was able to talk with one of the chief staff members in the Congressman's Washington D.C. office who was very helpful and through a direct yet cordial approach was able to build a rapport with the staff member and secure a commitment from him to get an answer on the question of whether or not the Congressman would be willing to co-sponsor HR 1207. The CFL member always made sure to follow up with the staff member and if there were no results would politely ask when they should check back with him to see if he was able to speak with the Congressman to get an answer. After some conflicts of the Congressman's schedule the staff member was able to speak with the Congressman who had some questions as to how it would affect local banks in Iowa but said he was otherwise open to being a co-sponsor. Once again, the staff member asked the CFL member to check back with them in a week once they were able look into it a little further. Surprisingly, within about 30 minutes the CFL member received a call from the staff member and was told that their concerns were alleviated because after a brief investigation they realized it would not affect local banks and the Congressman was now willing to be a co-sponsor! Incredible news! Through the efforts and perseverance of the Iowa Campaign for Liberty members Iowa's 3rd District Congressman has added his voice to the many voices in Congress who are now seeking transparency from the Federal Reserve Bank! We still have 3 Congressmen in Iowa who have not heard enough of our voices yet and have been unwilling to take a stand regarding HR 1207! We need to turn up the effort on these remaining Congressmen and make sure that we secure a bipartisan victory with 5 Iowa congressmen as co-sponsors of HR 1207! Our last report a couple of months ago titled IOWA in FIRST PLACE - Montana, Vermont, Idaho Jockey for Second told the story of who to watch as teams organize to take back their states. The goal is 10,000 Local Coordinators nationwide, with each state having set their goals based on total population. Local Coordinators are the key to winning back our beloved Country, one neighborhood at a time. Recent stats show a surprising turn of events! IDAHO shot out in front from fourth place just a couple short months ago into the number one spot with 72.55% of goal. IOWA (who has been in front throughout) remains neck and neck, holding its own at second place with 72% and 72 Local Coordinators. WASHINGTON STATE moved up on the inside from fifth place into a coveted third place with 69.16% of goal and a whopping 148 Local Coordinators (more than any other state). MONTANA and VERMONT continue to run like the wind, holding fourth and fifth place respectively, with 60.87% and 58.82%. MINNESOTA and NORTH DAKOTA, ever-vigilant, jockey for sixth place with over 40% of goal, and UTAH is not far behind with over 38% of goal. In addition to Washington, three additional states now have over 100 Local Coordinators each: Texas (135), Florida (126), and California (119). New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan each have over 90 Local Coordinators and are headed toward the "100 mark". Congratulations to all. Who will win the race? It's anyone's guess! Stay tuned... Thanks to all of those who supported the effort to make the Las Vegas Gun Show petition drive a success this Memorial weekend! We were able to obtain over 300 signatures on Saturday and Sunday to support H.R. 1207. We will present the signatures to Congresswoman Titus on Tuesday May 26th at 11 am to coincide with the call blast happening that day. We have asked her office to have a response prepared for our arrival other than "she will consider the measure should it come to the house floor for vote." We had a harmonious event. I am very proud of how hard everyone worked to get those signatures! We were next to the NRA booth that had 20-30 people stop by to fill out for a raffle the entire day, and we had 150 sign petitions per day, sometimes there were 5-6 people signing at the same time! From our vantage point, we were able to look upon a vender that was selling movie posters. A rather large movie poster that we looked upon was from the movie "300" the story of the Spartan King Leonidas and 300 Spartans (a free people) fighting to the last man against Persian "god-King" Xerxes and his army (slaves) of more than one million. We all make a difference. Don't ever think that your contribution is too small or insignificant. I am a new widow with the help of a school teacher, a casino employee, a couple of retired veterans, my two girls, and another father with his daughter. I am very proud and grateful for each and every one of you! In Liberty, Tiffany Osborn Member of Campaign for Liberty

H.R. 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency bill which was proposed by Representative Ron Paul (R-TX), has been co-sponsored by 179 members of the House - including two of the three Representatives of Nevada. The bill requires 218 co-sponsors in order to immediately move from committee to a vote on the floor. Don't let this bill die in committee!
On Tuesday, May 26, contact Representative Dina Titus, of Nevada's 3rd district, and tell her Nevada demands that the Federal Reserve be audited!
Here's how to contact Representative Titus:
Washington, D.C. Address
319 Cannon House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 Phone: 202-225-3252 Fax: 202-225-2185 District Address
8215 South Eastern Avenue, Suite 205 Las Vegas, NV 89123 Phone: 702-387-4941 Fax: 702-837-0728
Sample phone script:
"I am calling to request that Rep Titus sign on as a co-sponsor of HR 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency bill, which is in the House Financial Services committee. As a resident of Nevada (or District 3), I believe the Federal Reserve should be accountable to the citizens of our nation. We demand an audit!"

Per Joe Panico, C4L member, Clark County: Last night was a sound victory for Constitutional Republicans. The Clark County Republican Central Committee overwhelmingly adopted a Resolution to Support Auditing the Federal Reserve Bank based on Ron Paul’s HR 1207 Federal Reserve Transparency Act 2009. Jeff Buntrock explained the need to audit the Fed to a very supportive group. Ron Paul awakened America to the dangers of unconstitutional policy and specifically focused our attention on the adverse effects the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank and its fiat money creation policy. How wonderful that the local Republican Party is now in agreement that the Fed should be audited and has an understanding of its destructive effects on our economy. If you are interested in making a positive change in Republican party politics in Nevada, please come back to the Clark County Republican Central Committee meetings and continue the movement to constitutional government. We can do this! Tags: |

These petitions are being circulated in Gun shop dealers throughout Clark County. Most of these Bills were not heard, but these folks have not given up. End My post>>>>>>
Nevada A.J.R. 15 : THE 10th AMENDMENT STATE SOVEREIGNTY RESOLUTION "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the State respectively, or to the People"
Nevada ASSEMBLY BILL 288: the long awaited Castle Doctrine self-defense measure that will provide Nevadans' right to protect our homes and families.
Nevada ASSEMBLY BILL 468: enacting provisions in the Nevada Taxpayer and Citizenship Act to help our state necessarily deal with immigration issues.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Nevadans' voices to our legislators were ignored on the above CRITCAL BILLS! Despite mass public calls and emails, the Committee Chairpersons killed the above bills by refusing to give them a Hearing, preventing them to go to the floor for a vote. These bills - needed NOW - will not be re-considered for two years (2011), unless the Governor calls a special session. Worse, some of the below Committee Chairs a) said no matter how many Nevadans called they weren't going to give the bills a hearing, and b) told the bill sponsors to call the DOGS off! Grrrr!
CALL the Governor's office and demand he convene a special session by mid-June 2009 to hear and pass these 3 bills critical to Nevadans' liberty. (If our legislators can't play fair they'll have to stay after school)
Governor Jim Gibbons (775) 684-5670 101 N Carson Street Carson City, NV 89701
Then CALL the Speaker and Committee Chairs and let them know what you think! (and don't let 'em say time was too short - WE the People TOLD them to make these a priority!)

Last night I went to a meeting and was introduced to a movement that I believe might be the most important idea that I've seen in years, especially at this time in our country. Started right here in Nevada by Stewart Rhodes and Dave Freeman It's called Oathkeepers.( http://oath-keepers.blogspot.com/ or a 10 minute video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf2K4-BQYAI )
It's a movement to remind law enforcement, military and government officials of their oaths to the Constitution, and to educate and re-affirm what that oath means. Throughout history, out of control governments have used the best qualities of the people following their orders against them. In Germany, it was their honor and sense of national pride. They had sworn an oath to Hitler. In Japan, it was their honor, and their sense of duty, they had sworn an oath to their Emperor. In this country, our founding fathers had the wisdom to make the oath of office to the Constitution of the United States of America. This is not an oath to a single corruptible man, this is not an oath to a political party. This is an oath to an ideal, and the Oathgivers in this country need to be reminded of this. Who is truly responsible for the collapse of the Berlin wall? Is it Ronald Reagan? Gorbachev? Perhaps they can take some credit, but the real unsung hero is the guard who's orders were to shoot anyone attempting to damage, or cross the wall. He made a moral decision to defy those orders when the first person with a hammer showed up, and thus started a landslide and made history. History is full of stories of debacles where people can say, " I was just following orders", but much less frequent are the accounts of true heroes who take a stand against what they know is wrong. In America we can set our standards higher, because we have been, and ought to be, the example of freedom and individual liberty for the rest of the world to aspire to. It seems that every other day, I'm hearing stories of TSA agents harassing travelers, or people being tased by law enforcement without justification. I also heard that we are number 6 on the list of the worst police states in the world. This is a trend I would like to see reversed. Traditionally in America, we trust our law enforcement BECAUSE they have made an oath to uphold the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. In recent years, that trust seems to be moving in the wrong direction, so let's reverse it. Forward this info to every law enforcement, military person, or elected official you know, and urge them to watch the video, and consider what an oath means. Remember the words of the founding fathers "we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor". Should we do any less?

This coming Tuesday, April 28th, C4L will be holding its second official Mass Action Day by doing a "National Petition Push" in support of HR 1207! Cosponsors are pouring onto the bill faster than the Library of Congress' site can keep up (We're up to 92 now, but the listing won't show until early next week.), and, with Jesse's visits to over 50 Capitol Hill offices this week garnering very positive results, now is the perfect time to make our voices heard! Our VA national office is flooded with over 40,000 of your petitions, and next week we're taking them where they belong - to congressional offices all over the Hill. Members of C4L's national staff will be joined by volunteers from all over the DC area to deliver these petitions. If you're in the DC area and are interested in joining us on Tuesday, contact Allison Gibbs for more information. But why hog all the fun?? We're asking Campaign for Liberty members all across America to join our Petition Push and drop your gathered petitions off at your representative's district offices this Tuesday. Our state coordinators are busy planning for this Action Day, so be sure to contact your state coor. and let them know you plan to participate. Keep an eye on our Recent Member Posts section today, as many of them have already blogged about their plans for Tuesday. Also, you can take advantage of this weekend to gather even more signatures. We've prepared a new streamlined petition to help you introduce the Audit idea to those who are unfamiliar with the Fed or the other issues involved. Curious to see if your rep has cosponsored yet? Click here to find out, and be sure to send along an email either urging them to cosponsor if they haven't or thanking them for their stand if they have. This is a great way to get involved with Tuesday's "Push" even if you can't make it to their offices. And don't worry about having to scramble before Tuesday to participate - we'll be doing more of these in the coming months. Many of you have already gathered lots of petitions, so now is a good time to take them to the offices. For state coordinator contact info and representative's district office addresses, visit your state page. Make plans now to participate on Tuesday, even if you only have time to drop off a petition or two on your way to or from work. And be sure to take lots of pictures and videos of your participation! Let's make our voices heard and continue this great momentum we've built. Like Jesse wrote yesterday, we can win. More than just a philosophical exercise, this is a battle we can take all the way to the House floor... and beyond. Update: Thanks to Steven Vincent for the link to End the Fed's "Melt the Switchboard" Event in support of HR 1207 scheduled for Monday! Call on Monday, show up on Tuesday! On November 9, interim state coordinators began working toward the goal of recruiting 10,000 Precinct Leaders in the first year, with each state's percentage based on total population. Precinct Leaders are what make this race important as they are crucial players in taking back our country, one precinct at a time. Here are the updated results. If you've ever watched horse racing, you should be familiar with this from the announcer: ....Aaaaaaaaand, they're off! IOWA shot out of the gate at the bell and remains in the lead. Iowans pulled a whopping 40% increase in the first turn (month), and are now at 67% of goal in just three short turns. Iowa is running like wildfire and has no intention of looking back, having leaped forward a full 7 percentage points this turn. MONTANA, sure-footed, moved on the near side from third place last turn to grab second place and hold on tight, inching up to nearly 53% of goal. Will Montana 'even it out', fight to remain in second, or reach for the coveted first place? VERMONT, steady throughout, experienced a burst of energy, coming up from behind on the inside. A nose behind second place at 52%, Vermont is one to watch. IDAHO, holding a very close fourth place at 51% and coming up narrowly on the inside. Idaho holds our attention, having bolted ahead 5.88% over the last turn. WASHINGTON STATE having hit the coveted "100 Precinct Leader" mark, may very well cross to the fence to finish on the board, now holding a close fifth place with 47%. Keep an eye on NORTH DAKOTA and MINNESOTA, nearly neck and neck as they make their way down the stretch toward the next turn. These two are strong, long-distance runners, currently at 37.5% and 36%, respectively. No Maiden Race, this exciting competition run is definitely made up of winners. With a remaining 9 months (turns) left in the race, it's close and too early to call, so the question remains... Who will run the distance to Win, Place and Show? Stay tuned!

Now that the party convention cycles are over, it's time to get down to business. What is the business we are getting down to? Re-lighting the fire of 1776 and retaking this nation door by door, block by block, precinct by precinct. No top-down heirarchical organization is needed to get this job done. The people who know your neighboorhood, your neighbors better than anyone is you! If you don't know them, here's your chance. If you have not already joined the Campaign for Liberty as a Precinct Leader, please do so today. The Precinct Leader program will provide you with tools and training to use as you meet your neighbors, identify those who believe consistently with us, and bring them over to our side. Winning a nation will not happen on our keyboards, or in newspapers or on TV. We have close to 80 years of socialist indoctrination to overcome. That will be done by human to human interaction. A handshake. A civil discussion. Building personal relationships based on trust. It will not occur overnight. Some people will need to hear your message two, three or four times. But step one is to join the precinct leader program. Then identify all other Ron Paul supporters and get them to join. Please join today. http://www.campaignforliberty.com May the Spirit of '76 burn brightly. Light the fire! Categories: Campaign For Liberty Tags: |

The future of the party.
Here's the way I see it. The Democrats may be congratulating themselves on a great victory, but in reality, the only thing they had to do to win was to not be Bush. In the coming months, and for sure by the next election, once the reality of the socialist policies start sinking in, the liberty movement is going to continue to grow.
Once people realize that the constitution is forfeit if we don't make some radical changes, the passion for freedom will be rabid in this country. It is up to the leadership of the Republican party to tap into this movement. or to shun it as they did in this last election. Everything that Rebuildtheparty has on their to-do list was accomplished by the Ron Paul campaign. Internet presence (we never lost an online poll) innovative fundraising (record setting 4 and 6 million dollar money bomb days) encouraging young candidates (BJ Lawson, James Smack, and others) and grassroots activism (we funded a blimp for gods sake). The opportunity was there, but it was rejected by the Republican rank and file. Early on, Las Vegas prognosticators recognized that Ron Paul was the only Republican running that had a chance of beating any of the Democrats. Are they that much smarter than the Republican leadership? How many times in the coming months will Ron Paul have to be proven right before the veil is lifted?
I'm reminded of a Gary Larson cartoon where a stegosaurus is giving a talk to his fellow dinosaurs "It doesn't look good" he says. "The climate is changing, the mammals are everywhere, and we have brains the size of walnuts". We need leadership willing to adapt, and be open to revamping the party, and tapping into the growing liberty movement.
People say that the liberty Republicans are trying to hijack the party. (to which some would say we're just trying to save our country) I say, well why not? You let the Neocons do it, and look at the results. Why not get hijacked back towards limited government, individual liberty, and fiscal responsibility? Back towards the ideals that the Republican party still publishes as their mission statement. Opposition to this makes no sense to me.
Traditionally The Republican financial base has been big business and entrepreneurs. That is going to change because of the nationalization of so many of our companies. In the future, donations will come from liberty minded individuals, and this can work as proven by the Ron Paul campaign. If the Republican party had realized this early on and gotten behind him, who knows where we might be right now.
The question is, are we going to realize it before the next election? Is the party going to take the banner of liberty as their own, or leave it to flounder once again in third party obscurity. It's up to us. The dinosaurs need to adapt, or move aside and let a new generation move this country back where we need to be.
