Hi all, I wanted to follow up on some comments made at our C4L meeting last night. Brad Johnson, SD35 Chair, talked about working together on the issues that unite us rather than focusing on where we differ. I could not agree more. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, 'Someone who agrees with us on 80% of the time is not a 20% traitor.' We need to keep this in mind in politics. Rep Mark Buesgens gave us sage advice as well. Mark could not be more of a Liberty guy. Yesterday he was working with David Bly (DFL) 25B to protect the property rights of MN citizens. This is why Mark is such a great example of leadership. The overly partisan would never get over that he could work with a liberal; yet what Mark was doing was for our principles. It's not about left or right. It's what is right. We are all frustrated with Washington. A couple people have focused that anger on Rep John Kline. I was pleased today that they have changed their rhetoric to be the 'Committee to Educate Rep Kline'. This is more useful. Those of you who joined us in the HF1207 effort in April will remember that we were treated courteously by Rep Kline's staff. We were encouraged to bring our issues up with Mike Osskopp so he can discuss them directly with the Congressman. John did side with us and is now a co-sponsor of 1207. The Congressman listened to us and did as we requested thanks to all of you. We have an invitation to share our knowledge on important issues with the key person at Rep Kline's ear. We thus have the responsibility to do just that; rather than to merely get angry. We must use our persistence and not squander our passion. Nothing poisons persistence, nor dissolves determination like hopeless rhetoric. Let's remain hopeful and determined. As Rep Buesgens said, "We are the power", that will restore the Republic. It's incumbent on us to do our part to educate our Congress without giving up on our principles. A few points about the resignation of Janet Beihoffer as CD2 Chair. The consensus last night was that Janet has done a fine job as Chair. We may have quibbled on a few issues but we owe her a debt of gratitude for her long hours and especially for her GOP Poll watcher program. Included here is her email. It would be great if she heard a note of thanks from all C4L'ers. jtnassoc@frontiernet.net Some folks have asked me where I come down on the two CD Chair candidates we know of so far, Bonn Clayton and Mike Lindsay. The election for Chair will be done by the CD Executive Committee on 11/12. Both are capable people. I'll give my two cents, but know that each of you will make your own decision. Full disclosure, I was Judy Lindsay's campaign Mgr. for the last part of her run for HD37B rep last year. Mike has chaired the last two conventions and has been fair with and defended Ron Paul people. That's why I worked for Judy and one reason that I support Mike for CD Chair. Mike committed to me tonight that he will serve until our 3/20/2010 CD2 Convention and then face an election by the body. Our Constitution is mute on this point. So the person elected next week could argue that we the delegates would not get a say until 2011. My understanding is that's Bonn's position. Thus another reason I like Mike. I ask that those of you on the Exec Committee support Mike Lindsay too. In Liberty, Terry

This column of mine, published in Human Events on 10/6/2009 (see below), has received a great deal of attention -- as a thank you for your continued support, I wanted to make sure you received a copy . . . 10/06/2009 Beware of the Republican Establishment by Bay Buchanan
the streets to protest a government gone berserk. They are angry and determined to take their country back. But there are snakes in the grass intent on using this movement to return to power, not the people, but the Republican establishment. If this happens we lose everything, including our country. To succeed, the rebellion must produce candidates with fresh faces--populists who share our outrage for the arrogance of Washington, individuals who will fight for American workers and American families. We need primaries to nominate candidates that aren't owned by party leaders, powerful special interests, nor Corporate America. Last year, seventy-five percent of Americans believed the country was headed in the wrong direction and they threw out the bums -- Republican bums. Obama and his comrades misinterpreted the victory, believing it was all about them, and proceeded to impose a big government leftist agenda on a conservative nation. Now voters are ready to throw out this new set of bums. Enter the Republican establishment. They sold this country out when they were in power and can't ever be trusted again. But they see an opening and are setting the stage for their own return. They are handpicking candidates -- Bush-likes and Bush-lites -- to run against conservatives in primaries. Many are retreads, all are available for purchase. Then the party elite endorses their candidate early in the primary, fills their coffers with millions from corporate PACs and special interests, pressures party regulars to get in line, and sends word to the grassroots candidates: "Drop out -- you can't win". Their game plan: shut out the conservative populists. But if candidates running for office because of love of country are marginalized by the party elite, in favor of career politicians beholden to party leaders, we are lost -- and so is America. Look at the Senate races. The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), led by Sen. John Cornyn, has already endorsed in half a dozen Republican primaries, with more to come. Solid conservatives with great credentials -- new faces, future leaders, threats to the party elite -- were already announced candidates in many of these races. But Cornyn and his cronies aren't about to let the rank and file choose the candidates -- too risky. A man of the people might slip through and too many of them could lead to government by the people. In Florida, the NRSC endorsed Gov. Charlie Crist, an Arlen Specter Republican, who is running against a young conservative Cuban-American Marco Rubio. Rubio was a long shot but the NRSC endorsement so outraged conservatives nationwide it breathed new life into his campaign. In Colorado, District Attorney Ken Buck, a tough prosecutor of illegal aliens, was gaining traction in his campaign for U.S. Senate. Enter John McCain. He calls Jane Norton, former Lt Governor and state chairman of his presidential bid, and convinces her to run against Buck, promising the NRSC endorsement, plenty of money, and a lock on the nomination. Le Moine Dowd, a grassroots activist, summed it up perfectly: "Do we want the NRSC deciding our candidate? Does this action by the NRSC make the primary election irrelevant? Does it make the Colorado Republican Party irrelevant?" In Ohio, Rob Portman, a former pro-amnesty congressman and Bush trade rep, announced his bid for the U.S. Senate earlier this year. Then Tom Ganley, a conservative businessman from Cleveland infuriated by the massive uncontrolled spending of Washington, decided to run. Mortal sin, declared the party, which told this self-made successful businessman to get out of the race, that "the U.S. Senate isn't an entry level position." The NRSC endorsed Portman and are in full campaign mode. (Do these nitwits really think one of the architects of the Bush policy that sent our jobs overseas is going to win the general election in a state with 11% unemployment?) This same scenario is being repeated in a dozen other states. The political bosses are adamant that our candidates look and talk like them -- the kind that will get in line behind them. Leaders that rise up out of the rebellion and run for office will be a problem for them. So the snakes are out to stop them. The rebellion must start to focus on producing candidates that will do represent the American people in Washington -- then we must rally behind them and defeat the establishment candidates in the primaries. If that doesn't work, we must field candidates to run as independents in the general. The country is too important to let the establishment of either party continue to have their way with her. ________________________________________ CONTRIBUTE NOW

Minutes - Campaign for Liberty & RLC Meeting I.Greeting - New guests: Brad Johnson, SD35 Chair; Rep Mark Buesgens HD35B II. Invocation - Thank you Harold Schudlick III. Pledge - Thanks Greg O'Connor IV. MN GOP Health Care Coalition: Greg reported on the progress of this group of business people and health care providers. Greg represents small business on the coalition. He's preparing a white paper on Health Care. The first meeting was presided by a Dr from the Mayo Clinic. The group is looking at possible solutions to issues like health insurance. Only 3 or 4 providers are allowed to offer insurance in MN. This type of government restriction must be changed to allow greater competition and lower costs. V. Election Results: Brad Johnson reported that Conservative candidates did well in Scott County. Unfortunately the 3 Conservative candidates for school Board in ISD 196 (Dakota Cty) did not win. The closest one came within 600 votes. Mpls candidates did not fare well although Kris Broberg gained about 25%. There was a spirited discussion of the Congressional race in NY23 which appears to be a wake-up call for GOP Nat'l. VI. Audit the Fed - HR 1207 & S604: Go to campaignforliberty.com to get the latest on this important effort. Two Senators are trying to water down the language in S604. Sign the petition and submit it to our 2 Senators. Rep Mel Watt(D) is trying to strip HR1207. Our job here is contact especially the Democrats on the committee to demand that the original language remain in the Bill. You can find their names on the C4L Home page. Contact them. VII. Other business: weselectthecandidates.com: Harold gave an update on the progress. He has presented at 3-CD's and about 6 BPOUs. The basic thrust of this program is to raise awareness of the importance and responsibility of the delegates to make the selection of candidates. Sign up at the site. Request the presentation at your BPOU. It's 10 minutes for liberty. Resignation of Janet Beihoffer: The CD full committee will meet on 11/12 to select a new CD2 Chair. Rep John Kline's choice is Mike Lindsey who has served as Deputy Chair and has treated Ron Paul people fairly at the last 2 conventions. Brad suggested that Mike would only serve until the 3/20/2010 Convention when the body will elect the new chair. Bonn Clayton, a former chair of CD2 and CD3, is also seeking the position. Those present who sit on the full committee will request that the role only be filled until the next Convention (e.g. we select the candidates). All agreed that Janet has done a good job. We thank her for her service to CD2. Janet was one of our first guest speakers. She has done especially great work in developing the CD2 GOP poll watching campaign. Josh Regnier and Michael Neitzel have formed a group born out of frustration over some votes taken by our Congressman, John Kline. A discussion followed about some ways MN CD2 Republican Liberty Caucus VIII. Special Guest - Rep Mark Buesgens (R) District: 35B: Mark was introduced by Brad Johnson. Brad gave a challenge for all to stay involved as many of our SD35 C4L'ers have been. Speaking on the theme of delegate responsibility, Brad's goal is making sure that all elected delegates show up or at least that all positions are filled by alternates. The SD35 Chair role is the first elected position that he has held in the GOP. He sees the importance of our focus being on where we agree rather than on issues that divide. Rep Mark Buesgens gave a stirring address about the battle that we are in for the sake of our children and grand children. This is a long term fight and one that he has led during his multiple terms in the house. Mark is one of the true heroes for Liberty in the legislature. He has a Barry Goldwater quote in his office and he has used it on the house Rep Buesgens mentioned the fight going on in the house today over eminent domain. MN was one state to up hold property rights, however one key loop hole in the law is that public service companies (e.g. Utilities) are exempt. Thus people's land can be taken by large entities with the help of government. Mark reminded us that the framers Norann Dillon: Norann dropped by to announce that she has filed papers to be a candidate for Senate in SD43 (Plymouth and Minnetonka). Interestingly once she filed she received a call for Sen. David Senjen explaining that there will likely be a "big name" candidate running against her for the endorsement. 'Pity the fool', as Mr T would say. They obviously don't know Norann! Her web site DillonforSenate.com will be up soon. Respectfully submitted, Terry McCall - CD2 Campaign for Liberty

Most within the MN GOP are aware that Nathan Hansen, a Ron Paul Delegate to the 2008 GOP National Convention from MN CD4, made some outrageous and unfortunate comments about Joe Repya, a US Army veteran of multiple conflicts back to Vietnam. While Joe is not a Ron Paul supporter, he was quick to attack MN GOP leadership for it's mistreatment of Dr Paul and his supporters at the 2008 MN GOP State Convention. The Party's June 13th State Central election, choosing the current leadership vs the Liberty candidate for State GOP Chairman was the last straw for Lt Col Retired, Joe Repya. Joe wrote a principled rationale for his decision to leave the GOP which appeared in a local newspaper (St Paul Pioneer Press on 6/24). http://feelingthepainyet.com/?page_id=22 Hansen then wrote a scathing attacked on Mr Repya with words not to be repeated here but are available elsewhere: http://feelingthepainyet.com/?page_id=29 Joe came to our August 5th MN CD2 Campaign for Liberty meeting so we could hear directly from him without filters. He feels that the MN GOP is badly disfuctional and that little has changed in Party leadership. He gladly accepted Dr Paul's book, Revolution with our thanks. Nathan has now felt the wrath of veterans and their families for his remarks. The next salvo was the formation of a web site: http://nathanhansenmustgo.info, after the new State GOP Chair Tony Sutton named Hansen to Chair the Constitution and By Laws Committee for the State Party. Hansen had given the endorsement speech for Sutton at State Central. This weekend Veterans groups picketed the GOP State Convention demanding censorship and or removal of Hansen'. Part of their renewed anger was due to Mr Hansen, an attorney, suing the individuals, a veteran Joe Salmon and his wife Kris, who host the above mentioned website. Nathan Hansen apologized to the Veterans at the convention. Not all were moved, and much of the last hour of the convention devolved as angry veterans and their families put forth a motion to censor Hansen. CD2 Delegate, and husband of CD2 Chair Janet Beihoffer, put forth and amendment which praised all veterans and their families for their service but did not mention Nathan Hansen. The Beihoffer's had just this week, been to their son's first deployment to Iraq ceremony at Fort Bragg. The Beihoffer amendment past. The censor did not, still leaving many Veterans and their families with a bad taste for the GOP. A number of people have been working behind the scenes in an attempt to heal the rift between those directly hurt in this whole affair. Peter Zidek has been very instrumental in trying to resolve this mess. What follows is a letter that Peter sent to Nathan which started some dialog that has helped at least to start some negotiation between the offended parties. Thank you Peter for your leadership. "Nathan, According to the below copy of an email I received recently from some RP and CFL veterans it seems you submitted the following to the St. Paul Newspaper. If so, I think you've committed a grave and thoughtless error without checking all the facts about Joe and the reasons for his departure from the Party. Additionally by writing the piece as you did, you also subtly slammed other veterans including RP'ers and CFL'ers. I myself am a highly decorated combat Vietnam Veteran, a Ron Paul advocate, lifelong contributing Member of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, an Objectivist, and a semi-retired Theoretical Physicist that does not often volunteer the fact of my reluctant military service. In fact I was drafted, pulled out of my University studies to face the involuntary specter of killing or be killed. Is this "blood lust?" I have always been anti-war unless it was for defense of the USA. I, and in fact any veteran, that has actually experienced the horror of war first hand, is anti-war. I as they, would never send our kids into an insane meat grinder for dubious purposes! Joe Repya was one of the lone few that condemned the sham proceedings of the However, by implication, in your posted piece, anyone that has served in the military, has children or relatives in the military, must be Neocon, RINO, war mongers, communists or members of the Military industrial complex. This is patently unfair, simplistic, and in many cases untrue. By doing so, you alienate many potential traditional MN Republicans, those that have children and relatives in the military, and veterans. It will NOT convince them to our side and it clearly is not a formula of success! Yes, I and many veterans are anti-war. However, do not condemn the military and be grateful we have them to defend us. Condemn the policies of our politicians and their irresponsible squandering of our military resources on illegal, unconstitutional, immoral wars, world hegemony, and empire maintenance. Military personnel are bound under oath to obey orders from their superiors and to the US Constitution and are under penalty of Court Martial. Our Politicians are also bound by oath to the defense of the Constitution and yet transgress against it at very opportunity with apparent impunity. The one elected Republican that would better fit your label as a Neocon would be Rep. John Kline. Also a retired Coronel, war monger, former member of the armed services committee, and a voter for the Republican Tarp bill despite 50 to 1 phone calls and faxes to his office not to do so. In summary, Nathan, I think you made a tremendous faux pas, a bunch of enemies, and I don't know if you can somehow mitigate this to your benefit down the line. At the very least I think you should offer a personal apology to Joe or perhaps a retraction of sorts. Please see a copy of the email I received below to understand why I'm writing this to you. Please fix this! Peter R. Zidek

Campaign for Liberty - Meeting Minutes - August 5, 2009 Note that this meeting also included a MN CD2 Republican Liberty Caucus meeting. I. Greeting - Terry McCall II. Invocation - Bill Paulson III. Pledge - Greg O'Connor IV. Special Guest - Lt. Col., Retired - Joe Repya - Eagan, MN Joe gave a great explanation of his reasons for leaving the Republican Party of MN after being elected a Delegate to 2 Republican Nat'l Conventions and running for MN GOP Chair in 2007. Joe and Deb have together donated countless hours and 10's of thousands of dollars to the Republican Party. Joe sees a serious abandonment of the grass roots by the Party in favor of a small group of major donors who demand that their handpicked candidates be selected for leadership & office. Joe spoke out early about the disgraceful mistreatment of Ron Paul supporters at the 2008 MN GOP State Convention. We first thank Joe for his service to our country, and to our party. We wish he would stay, but understand the principled reasons for his leaving. We wish you well Joe, in any endeavors lucky enough to find you.
A. Norann Dillion gave an impassioned speech about MNRLC being 'The Conscience of the Republican Party'. All Liberty lovers should also be members of this August group which as a political entity can and does endorse Liberty candidates. MNRLC stands for Individual Rights, Limited Government, and Free Enterprise. Candidates can seek endorsement by signing the MNRLC 'Liberty Compact'. Go to www.rlcmn.org
B. Rep. Tom Emmer, candidate for Governor, and MNRLC endorsed, spoke about the need to limit government in MN. He remembers not so long ago when '3M, Honeywell, and IBM were the top employers ' in our state. Today the top employers are all government agencies. As a small business owner and part time legislator he sees how 'rising taxes, increased mandates and unnecessary regulation are killing the entrepreneurial spirit' in MN. Tom has 'never voted for a tax increase nor taken a dime of pork barrel spending for his district'. Emmer was the first MN legislator to offer a 10th Amendment Sovereignty bill. He is one of only 5 House members to be honored by LEA for his Conservative voting record in 2009. www.EmmerForGovernor.com
A $500 matching gift was offered by one of our members for the first $500 donated to Emmer's run. Contact me if you send money to the Emmer campaign and we will see that it us matched.

What an honor to be among patriots. Today we met with Mike Osskopp District Director for Rep John Kline. We had preambled the meeting with several contacts to the Minnesota staff: 1. Early this Saturday an email requesting a meeting on HR1207. 2. A phone conversation with staff yesterday AM explaining that we would be bringing in petitions and several constituents in support of the bill. 3. An email this AM to staff listing who likely would join us. 4. An email at 12PM to Mike Osskopp with details on the bill including current co-sponsors, and that more people may spontaneously show up for our 2PM meeting. I ended the email to the District Director with, "It would be great to hear from you today that John has signed on to HR 1207". 12 Patriots showed up for our 1:30 PM planning meeting. We went in to meet with Mike Osskopp at 1:55. We all crowded into his office. The first words out of Mike's mouth, "John has signed on as a co-sponsor to HR 1207!" We had a good rousing discussion about the Bail out vote, the Farm Bill, and following the Constitution (Thank you Michael Nietzel for your courage!). The meeting ended with the District Director asking us to keep him particularly informed about legislation that we feel strong about since he is with the Congressman every weekend that he is home. Osskopp can educate the Congressman like no other. I want to thank Mike Osskopp for his efforts, staffer Brooke Dorobiala for setting up the meeting, Rep Kline's DC staff for quickly reviewing the materials and getting it to the Congressman promply with a yes recommendation. On our end thank you to everyone in CD2 who signed Petitions and got them to me before the meeting. Very special thanks to Rep. John Kline for signing on and to the following men who joined in the effort today. Tom Dippel - HD57A, Trevor Johnson - SD40, Ayrlahn Johnson - HD40A, Francis Klinkner - SD37, Chuck Devaney - HD35, Mike Overland - CD5 (HR 1207 Coordinator), Michael Neitzel - SD38, Bryan Mork - SD35, Leon Moe - SD57, Jeff Miner - SD 35 (And, I'm sorry I know that I am missing someone) Who said that Petitions don't mean much? We had a stack of nearly 60 of them that we left with the Congressional staff. Having developed a relationship with the Congressional staff doesn't hurt either. Having done the work we earned the right to effect change. Kudos to Marianne Stebbins our State Coordinator and to the other MN CD Coordinators for your support. Thanks to Jesse, Debbie, Deb, and all at C4L HQ. This is your victory too. PS: We focused on 'Hard Republicans' as C4L HQ suggested for our Petitions. These are people who have fought the battles, got elected to a party position whether State Central Delegate, local BPOU leader, or regular delegate or alternate. These folks' names mean more to GOP elected officials than just the average person on the street. As HQ explained 'hard Republicans' have 100 to 1 impact vs any name.

"The truth is not an obstacle for someone such as me, she said, Like many Americans, I've tried to maintain some new habits since the first of January. One of my resolutions was to avoid listening to the news. I know that sounds a rather ignorant choice, but it just makes my blood boil - and that's not healthy. When I listen to the news, especially to elected officials, I end up shouting back at the television or radio and looking for something to throw. I remain informed in other ways that are better for my health - and my personal possessions. So last night was a real test when my husband turned on President Obama's press conference during supper. The result was predictable - I was mad, early and often. Usually I'm stirred up by the it-feels-good rhetoric, unsupported premises, and flagrant disregard for the Constitution. There was plenty of that last night, but something else that just chilled me with its implications: ignoring the truth. In one example, President Obama responded to the first question about having a crisis that we "would be unable to reverse": Really? Japan spent trillions on infrastructure projects, taking their government spending as a percentage of GDP from about 31% to 34% in only two years (1991-1993). I keep returning to The Road to Serfdom and it's hard to believe it was written over 50 years ago. It seems more like an astute commentary of our times, especially with a chapter on "The End of Truth." How many people listened to that same sentence from President Obama last night and thought, "well, that does it - we can't make the same mistake as Japan! We need this stimulus plan now!" It's one thing to interpret facts or present only the ones that support your case, but to change them completely? President Obama also said, "although there are some politicians who are arguing that we don't need a stimulus, there are very few economists who are making that argument" [emphasis added] AND "most economists almost unanimously recognize that ... government is an important element of introducing some additional demand into the economy." [emphasis added] It seems he must have missed the full page Cato Institute ad signed by hundreds of economists, included some Nobel laureates. These are only two examples from last night that had me shaking a fireplace poker at the screen. The Campaign for Liberty already has a tough task to education our fellow citizens about how government and monetary systems really work. Most people are unaware of the true nature of these systems, and simply need them introduced and explained. How much harder is it going to be if we first have to expose lies? Hayek wrote "the most effective way of making everybody serve the single system of ends toward which the social plan is directed is to make everybody believe in those ends." I would like to convince people to believe in certain ends, too, but I intend to get there with the truth. Categories: Ethics, Current Events, Philosophy, Economy Tags: |

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> This just in from Leon Moe and DownsizeDC.org. It speaks to why it is so difficult to win over hard corps partisans. Thanks Leon.
Quote of the Day:
"We did not see (as a result of brain scans of partisan loyalists) any increased activation of the parts of the brain normally engaged during reasoning. What we saw instead was a network of emotion circuits lighting up, including circuits hypothesized to be involved in regulating emotion, and circuits known to be involved in resolving conflicts. None of the circuits involved in conscious reasoning were particularly engaged. Essentially, it appears as if partisans twirl the cognitive kaleidoscope until they get the conclusions they want, and then they get massively reinforced for it, with the elimination of negative emotional states and activation of positive ones . . . The result is that partisan beliefs are calcified, and the person can learn very little from new data."

One of my favorite New Years traditions is to catch a few hours of a Twilight Zone marathon. Writer Rod Serling was one of the first to grasp the full potential of television, and he took advantage of the medium to present deep truths to his audience while entertaining them at the same time. Our friend Dan Mitchell debunks a Keynesian myth that big government, spending borrowed money, can "stimulate" the economy.

WE the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
I have become a Ron Paul fan, and more so a fan of the revolution. I have always been a strong and rather opinionated Republican, however, recent ly I have experienced an internal transformation of sorts. I now see the political landscape much differently. I am truly concerned for the Republic; America. Our Founding Fathers are probably rolling in their graves, to see these Big bankers and Criminal Elites hijack this once Free Nation. Ron Paul was right all along. I realize this FULLY now. And I am comitted to perserving & restoring this Republic. The Constitution is our legal defense and our guiding light. We have all of America's history on our side. Right will eventually prevail, but WE THE PEOPLE must be the ones who make that happen. I seek others of like mind and similar passion. There are growing numbers of Americans who are ready to abandon the old paradigms of Right & Left/Red & Blue Political mentalities. We need our American mentality to take charge of our political egos now. It is just too risky now to NOT evolve from our old political egos & 'hang-ups'. The Constitution & all of our Rights depend on people like us RIGHT NOW...more than ever. I hope I can be the change I wish to see in the World....since truly, that is all I, alone can do

RE: Action – RNC Chair Straw Poll Below is my response to ‘MichiganDelegate’ (whose response follows mine) who was asked by his state chair, Anuzis, to go to thenextright.com and vote for him. Anuzis was the Michigan GOP Chairman who tried to ban Ron Paul from the debates as did Michael Steele. Both of these chumps are running for RNC Chair. Mike Duncan is the current RNC Chair also running. He was installed by Karl Rove and did nothing to stop the mistreatment of Ron Paul and was likely complicit in efforts to derail the Ron Paul campaign. By the way Chip Saltsman, also listed, was a key player in the Huckabee campaign. He is catching heat for sending out a clip of the “Barack the Magic Negro” parody played by Rush Limbaugh. The Left and big media are up in arms about this move. What they don’t address is that the piece was taken from an LA Times article written by a black leftist and using that exact derogatory term to describe Obama. Only the left can insult the left, and then blame the right. My suggestion is that you go to the site below and cast your ballot against these three clowns, Anuzis, Duncan, and Steele. I frankly don’t know who Katon Dawson is. He’s also on the list. With leaders like these in place it would be a long time before freedom comes back to the GOP. Perhaps they should add a real leader like Ron Paul to the RNC Chairman straw poll list! Terry THE Next Right post - http://www.thenextright.com/is-saul-anuzis-acceptable-as-rnc-chair Vote at the bottom: http://www.thenextright.com/ Anuzis Is The Problem newSubmitted by ReaganMan on Sat, 12/27/2008 - 19:38. It's very sweet that you should vote for your chair at his request but open your eyes. Saul and his friendly neocons are what have destroyed our party. I've been a long time conservative Republican activist. What your chair did and what weak kneed clones like him around the county did during this cycle was despicable. States like New Hampshire, Nevada, Texas, and Minnesota caved in to the McCain bots and we have hell to pay now. It started with a lack of leadership at the top of the State Parties. They should have told the RNC and McCain campaign to go to hell. Why was it that the McCain campaign was out of money in December of 2007 and broke his own stupid McCain-Feingold law. Suddenly he was back. Propped up by brain dead chairs like yours. Follow the money. When it came in the state chairs threw the grass roots under the bus and did whatever the neocons like Rove and the McCain folks wanted. It took me decades of working for the party to have the honor of representing my state at the GOP National Convention in St Paul. Things I saw there sickened me. McCain campaign henchmen almost out numbered delegates on the floor (Against any know Robert’s Rules). They literally motioned to the crowd when to cheer like human applause signs. I spoke to many Ron Paul delegates and for my money they were the youngest and brightest of the bunch. They were abused by knot heads like your chair all along the process and yet they were the one’s who acted like real freedom loving Americans. They were even disrespected at the convention and it pissed me off. I’m an old hockey player. No great talent; I was the enforcer who stepped up when our smaller guys were getting abused. I’m in my 60’s now so long past being a threat to anybody, but the habits remain. At one point I saw a group of burly McCain bots pushing around the Ron Paul delegates who were getting a picture taken together outside the hall. The Paul people were elected Delegates and Alternates, not demonstrating, but getting a picture taken for God’s sakes and the McCain campaign saw it as their duty to mess with them. I blew my cork and got in the face of the biggest McCain bot I could find. I said. “What the hell are you doing? These people are having a picture taken. Why are you doing this?” He half passed me off as he spoke into his mouth piece and listened to directions on his ear piece. His answer, “We’ve got an election to win!” Well great. How did that work out for us? Leadership like your chair allowed this kind of crap to go on at the state level country wide. Promote Saul or people like him? No!!! Kick their asses out! It's people like the Ron Paul supporters who will bring this party back not hacks like Anuzis, Duncan, or Steele. I was asked to vote hereSubmitted by MichiganDelegate on Sat, 12/27/2008 - 16:12. I was asked to vote here by Saul. I guess that makes sense a state chair asking his delegates to help him out. I'm torn here however. I'm reading the comments here and frankly what "RedMango" faults Saul for is what made him effective as a state chair. Michigan is a democratic state, with Republican pockets. Keeping the troops focused, pushing the party issues, is what Saul did, and what Saul was good at. He was an effective state party chair. Michigan is a loser for the Republicans anyway you cut it, so Saul did his best to hold ground. There is a reason McCain didn't campaign here. That much being said, I'm not sure a good party chair is what we need, now, in national leadership. Values and vision should matter here, not keeping the troops in line. I'm no Ron Paul supporter, but what "John Galt" said was accurate, Saul did try to get Mr. Paul banned from the debate. The state RNC office literally had the switchboard shut down due to the negative feedback that resulted from the foopah. This alienated a significant number of young people against the Michigan state party. We, as a party, should tolerate dissent within our ranks; it only makes us stronger. The Republicans at the National level have their backs against the wall. We are highly outnumbered by the Dems. We need vision and people willing to take a risk, not people that follow the party line. I don't have an answer here as to who this person might be, but the RNC needs a "General Lee" to lead it, not a McClellan. Organization only means so much, we have to take bold chances if we ever expect to take the moral highground in america again.
