Come and join us for the 2nd annual End The Fed Rally at the Louisville branch of the Federal Reserve from 2:00 PM until probably 4:00 or 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009. 101 S 5th St http://ronpaul.meetup.com/146/calendar/11786761 Video of last year's Louisville End The Fed rally: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoAyLOvwoFo Afterward, we'll again adjourn to The Spaghetti Factory for dinner. This local event is part of the nationwide coordinated effort to rally in protest at all 38 Federal Reserve locations across the country. Bring your anti-Fed signs, and anything else you think would be good to protest the secretive, inflationary, destructive activities of The Fed. The date was chosen as the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Federal Reserve. A year ago, not many people understood that The Fed provides the funding for our federal government's deficit spending, and as long as The Fed maintains their inflationary loose money policy, our non-representatives in DC will continue to spend far beyond our means. This year, HR 1207 has veto-proof support in the House of Representatives because of our hard work, and S. 604 is slowly gaining support in The Senate. The first step to any real fiscal conservancy in our federal government will require a thorough audit of the secretive Federal Reserve. I suspect that after the audit, the next step will be shutting down the Federal Reserve, once we learn that they cause the destructive economic cycles where every artificial boom is followed by a bust, and while the malinvestments that The Fed causes are bad for individuals and our economy at large, they are profitable to the privately owned Federal Reserve and their Wall Street bankster buddies, in what is starting to look very much like the Wall Street crime syndicate. Yes, The Fed is a private company and not a federal agency as they pretend to be whenever it's convenient for them to do so, and Americans are finally awakening to that fact. We need to keep up the pressure. Accountability for The Fed is something that most people hadn't considered until recently, but we're finally starting to "follow the money", and that's a good way to solve most crimes. I hope you can join us on November 22nd, outside the Federal Reserve branch in Louisville as part of the nationwide educational protests against The Fed. We'll have some liberty music, including several grassroots songs pertaining to monetary policy and The Lousy Fed. We might even get Jay to do a few minutes of Federal Reserve standup comedy. This is a fun event with a lot of camaraderie.

Wrote this a little while back, but I figured I would post it here. It's also at www.ryansheets.com. The idea did not come without consequence! Many men and women lost their lives over it. In fact, an entire war was fought over it. Once the war was won, many other wars around the world were fought over the same idea! In this short time, individualism has yielded the greatest era of advancement in the history of the world. Take a look around you. How many of the things you see have been invented in the last 2 centuries? Is it mere coincidence that, after thousands of years of stagnant collectivism, technology took off? How radical is it that we should be left to live our own lives? How radical is it that we should be trusted with the one thing we have been given in this world? How radical is it that our actions should come from personal preference, not the orders of men who know almost nothing about us? How radical is it to believe that the common man is just as capable of living his life as a king? The idea has been forgotten. We are told- and we have come to believe- that without leadership, there would be utter dissonance. If this is true, how do cars navigate city streets so successfully? If stop signs serve as a reasonable proxy for kings, why do we need kings? Are we to believe that an octagonal piece of red metal with a single word on it is responsible for such a miracle? Here we are again, on the brink of tyranny, believing that the problems of the world can be solved by increased force. Here we are again, believing that the ingredients of prosperity are incapable of providing for prosperity. Here we are, ready to sacrifice the world for a false promise. Here we are, chasing a dream of justice for all, ready to sacrifice the future to attain it. Here we are again, joyfully perpetuating the operation of a machine that does nothing for us. We have come to worship the Operator again. He tells us to ignore the value of gears; they're regularly replaced and they keep getting smaller. As the load increases, the machine begins to strain. The torque directed at the gears doesn't seem to be sufficient to keep the machine going so fast, so the Operator asks for more power. Fearing that the entire machine will be forced to slow down, we gladly oblige. Eventually, the pressure placed on the gears will cause them all to shatter, and the entire system will come to a screeching halt, but the gears wouldn't know the difference. A wise man, seeing the imminent collapse of the entire system, suggests that we should increase the gear ratios or allow the system to slow down rather than throwing more power at the machine. He is largely rejected, but a strange thing, an impossible thing, happens. A few of the gears hear what the man said, and they realize the death sentence they have placed on their successors. The gears we logically assumed to be inanimate begin to resist! Unfortunately these gears shatter under the pressure of the very complacent machine, but the idea spreads to remaining gears! The Operator demands more and more power, and his wish is repeatedly granted, but the increased torque is met with more and more resistance. Eventually, the resisting gears force the system to shut down. Ironically, this would be called a revolution. Maybe this world will never be perfect. Maybe friction is a law and our approach should take this into account. Maybe we should embrace this and try to increase efficiency. Maybe we should do the logical thing! Life today might be acceptable, but what about all of the the lives that have not even begun? Can we justify the enslavement of our grandchildren? Can we live with ourselves, knowing that the debts we have racked up may come due during the lives of those we will bring into this world? We are trying to purchase heaven for the present at the cost of hell to the future. We forfeit all of this money so someone we've never met can take action, yet the real killer, the definition of population control, is the apathy that has brought us to the reclining position as our neighbor is thrown out on the street. The idea that we could open up a spare room until our neighbor is able to get back on their feet isn't even considered; the government needs to fix this one! It seems natural that, as we increase the size and scope of our government, which exists only because we cede responsibility to it, apathy will go on another killing spree. This is the historical way of things. People ask me why I fight. People ask me why I stand up when everyone is sitting down. People seem to agree with what I'm saying, yet they dare not repeat it. People vote once every 4 years, and that ought to be good enough, right? I'm just a disobedient gear, but I have an idea, and my idea is immune to torque. There's people out there fighting, and there's people out there complaining. Almost everyone's complaining, few are fighting. Complaints aren't the same across the board, but everyone has a couch. Most of those complaining have functioning legs and voices. Imagine if everyone with a complaint got off of their couch and called their representatives! If we are to believe that war is ever the right choice, what the hell are couches for at a time like this? How can we trumpet the virtues of interventionism abroad while we watch our nation crumble on the news? How can we advocate the use of deadly force to spread Democracy when we are unwilling to lift a finger of our own? What is happening to this country is greatly unjust and if you don't get up and do something after reading this, you deserve your fate. The tyrants tell us our lives in danger. If we don't act swiftly, thousands, even millions, will die, they say. We must fight them there so that they do not come here! Never mind that they do not even have an air force, man the fighter jets! As I have said before in a previous post, United States code title 18, section 2331 defines "domestic terrorism" as follows: (5) the term "domestic terrorism" means activities that- (A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended- (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States
If they're a terrorist, no trial is necessary! Habeas corpus is for potential criminals, not potential terrorists! If dissent is not intimidating to the government, is it effective, or in any way remarkable? The definition of terrorism now includes, albeit implicitly, essentially any action found in the first or second amendment so long as the government can find a criminal violation dangerous to human life. The wording is so loose that a man could be defined as a terrorist if he was caught speeding with a dissenting bumper sticker on his car. Clearly, speeding patriots are a threat to national security, and that's why we passed the Patriot Act! So you say that I worry too much, and that the government will only use this definition for the good of the people. What happens if I'm wrong? Nothing. What happens if you're wrong? What if they lock me up without a trial and threaten to imprison you for 5 years if you speak of it? Under the Patriot Act they can do that, you know? Furthermore, United States code title 18, section 2385 makes it a Federal crime punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment to acknowledge the duty of a people to overthrow a tyrannical government: Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof- Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction. If two or more persons conspire to commit any offense named in this section, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction. As used in this section, the terms "organizes" and "organize", with respect to any society, group, or assembly of persons, include the recruiting of new members, the forming of new units, and the regrouping or expansion of existing clubs, classes, and other units of such society, group, or assembly of persons. A warning to all the teachers out there: it is illegal to teach the Declaration of Independence, and you can be sent to jail for 20 years for doing so. Apparently, Jefferson was wrong! It is not our duty to overthrow tyrannical government, it is our duty to rat out anyone who dissents. Please forward information about any terrorist teachers caught teaching their students about the Declaration of Independence to flag@whitehouse.gov. How many billions were spent bailing out banks, who pretended that every dollar they had was worth $35? How many billions were spent bailing out Chevy and Chrysler, who pay their employees more than 4 times the average American wage? How many billions were spent bailing out AIG, who made guarantees they simply could not back? We are replacing gears that wouldn't have shattered in the first place had the Operator not been given so much power! They tell us the economic meltdown is so complex we would never understand. What is so complex about a bunch of banks loaning out way more money than they had to people who couldn't afford to pay back the nonexistent loans? They tell us nobody could have seen it coming, but a quick YouTube search for "Peter Schiff was right" demonstrates otherwise. They tell us that inaction is not an option, but it seemed to work fine in 1921. Roosevelt's depression lasted about 10 times longer, and people still believe that he helped things! Ignoring logic, we allow the same people who caused this entire problem to try and help us out of it! We the People are growing more and more disillusioned with the nanny state which has taken, and frivolously spent away, our future prosperity and Liberty. Even as we are burdened with single-year Federal deficits nearing 2 trillion dollars, we are told that Medicare and Social Security- supposed guarantees- are on the verge of bankruptcy. Taxes levied on the pretense of providing for the People in hardship and retirement have been spent elsewhere. Promises, made and broken, are now being used as a supplement to the argument for socialized health care and more government. Our children are being born into slavery, our seniors are at the risk of being cut off. At this moment, a baby is entering this world with more than $180,000 dollars of debt on their tiny shoulders. At this moment, a soldier is risking his life to fight a war that was waged on lies and funded with that same debt. At this moment, citizens are being detained without trial or contact with the outside world on the supposed threat they pose to Liberty and the American way of life. At this moment our president, who notoriously spoke of transparency, is pushing thousands of pages of law that has will only be read after they are passed. Indeed, as people are finding, it is tyranny. Like always, it has been sold to us on the false promise of spreading justice and freedom. If the estimated 2 million people who showed up in D.C. today are any indication, I think this thing is about to take off big time. With Cap and Trade and Health Care Reform coming back up for a vote soon, voter outrage will only grow. While some, like 14 year old girls obsessed with an unattainable love that thoroughly abuses them, still believe this tragic love affair with the state can end in happiness, most now realize that something is wrong. If they don't take a stand now, they will surely take a stand when their couch is stolen from beneath them. A revolution is coming, one way or another, and I pray it will be of ballots, not bloodshed. Categories: Foreign Policy, Civil Liberties, Domestic Policy, Just For Fun, Miscellany, Economy Tags: |

Our Central Kentucky Campaign For Liberty group participated in the Lexington Kentucky Independence Day Parade. We had Big Bad Uncle Sam and General Motors. We didn't want to portray Uncle Sam as a lovable grandfather figure because we think the federal government has grown way too large and is a big part of our nation's problems, so we had a Big Bad Uncle Sam on drywall stilts and five large pillows stuffed into a grossly over sized Uncle Sam costume. He was over eight feet tall with the top hat, and over three feet wide... with a pig nose! We passed out trillion dollar bills with Bernanke's face on them and the back was a mini-ad for the Campaign For Liberty. We gave out over 500 of those, legislative action refrigerator magnets, official C4L recruiting brochures, pocket Constitutions, Bill of Rights bookmarks, etc.
http://videos.kentucky.com/vmix_hosted_apps/p/media?id=4914448&item_index=1& amp;all=1&sort=NULL Hopefully, our dark comedy street theater we got some people thinking about the adverse role of Big Government in their lives.

After attending this weekend's Kentucky GOP Leadership Conference, Rand Paul supporters are energized more than ever and are gearing up for the largest grass-roots campaign that Kentucky has ever seen!
Paul supporters have returned home to their respective counties and are glad that they traveled from all over the state to attend the Republican Party Leadership Conference this weekend that was hosted by RPK Chairman, Steve Robertson, and his team. "I enjoyed the chance to engage in dialogue regarding important issues such as monetary policy and free speech with Republican activists from around the state, and I look forward to utilizing my newfound campaigning techniques to deliver a big win for Rand Paul in both the primary and the general election," said Alan Brown, a local Nelson County grass-roots supporter. Alan spoke briefly with our Senator and attempted to give him over 100 petitions in support of S 604 from concerned citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Sen. McConnell responded to Mr. Brown that he was not there to "discuss legislation." Mr. Brown is not discouraged, however, and he will be contacting the Senator's regional office in the upcoming week to set an appointment to deliver the petitions that he has been entrusted with by the many supporters of the "Audit the Fed" bill that was originated by Dr. Ron Paul in the House and has made it's way to the Senate. Rand Paul supporters are eager to know what Senator Bunning is going to do, so that they can take the grass-roots and money bombs to the next level to show the stark contrast between Dr. Paul and all other challengers for this very important Republican-held seat.

I don't know if anyone beat me to the punch on this video or not, but it's just so amazing how accurate Bernake was with his predictions of where the economy was heading (this is meant with heavy sarcasm). So, please explain to me again why we should trust him with trillions of dollars.
If that isn't reason for an audit of the Fed, I don't know what is. Categories: Just For Fun, Economy Tags: Bernake, Fed, HR 1207 |

Low and behold, the videos have started to emerge for Rand Paul, US Senate Exploratory Candidate for Kentucky. Is the grassfire burning for an eye surgeon from Kentucky who sees that Liberty is the cure for what ails you. It goes without saying that the R3VOLution began when his father, Dr. Ron Paul, began his humble walk in defense of the Constitution, individual liberties and rights, sound monatary policy, limited government, and constitutional foreign policy.
Dr. Rand Paul is rooted in these same principles of liberty, a free market economy, and understanding what the constitutional role of the government should be. A true consevative and staunch defender of the Bill of Rights, Rand Paul is for Kentuckians. It's only fitting that the creative energies flowing from the ever growing campaign for liberty would eventually produce video promotions for www.RandPaul2010.com The video is an advertisement of an upcoming Money Blast promotion, and fundraiser, before the FEC filing deadline and the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. And the promotional website for the event is here. The grassfire burns for Liberty. Run Rand Run!

The Kentucky Republican Party is hosting an event perfect for the Rand Paul 2010 Senate Campaign. The KY Republican Leadership Conference will offer activists and candidates the resources needed to build effective grassroots operations through a series of interactive training sessions next Saturday, June 20th, at the Downtown Lexington Hotel. “Events like this are a good way to unite the party statewide,” said Christopher Hightower, a campaign coordinator for Dr. Paul, who is attending the conference. “The GOP leadership training in Lexington will be useful to further champion the traditional conservative beliefs that Dr. Paul stands for.” Having all ready organized a “Mini” Donation Bomb on June 2 that brought in $25,000 in online donations to the Rand Paul for US Senate Exploratory Committee just two weeks after Dr. Paul announced its formation, Paul supporters are eager to build the best grassroots campaign in Kentucky. Though Dr. Paul is still hard at work as an eye surgeon, the Rand Paul for US Senate Exploratory Committee has raised $70,000 before asking for donations. The Paul grassroots movement is all ready in stride. Traditional fundraisers are scheduled in Dr. Paul’s hometown of Bowling Green in July and in Texas in August. There are tentative plans for fundraisers in California in September, Florida in October and New York in November.
Details: KY Republican Leadership Conference Saturday, June 20th Downtown Lexington Hotel, 369 West Vine Street, Lexington, Kentucky 40507 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. ET This event offers activists and candidates the resources needed to build effective grassroots operations through a series of interactive training sessions. The registration fee is $50 per person. All registered Republicans are invited to attend. For planning purposes, the deadline to register was June 12. For more information or to RSVP, please call (502) 875-5130 or emailandi@rpk.org. To download the event registration form, click here. The Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) or the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) was signed by the United States in 1994 but has not yet ratified it. It is one of the many items that the Obama administration may push through this year and as late as January 13th 2009 now Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said ratification of LOST would be one of her top priorities. So, what exactly is LOST and why should you be concerned about it.
There are many concerns about LOST to which there could be much discussion. However, most do not know about LOST at all or not very much if they do. So it is my goal today to give a brief overview.
LOST is something that has been around for quite some and has been defeated time and again in the US. Reagan rejected it, Clinton signed it but it was not ratified. However, the tide seems to be changing in favor of it. As previously noted SOS Clinton supports it, Vice President Joe Biden supported it when he was in the Senate committee on Foreign Relations and former President Bush gave a resounding endorsement for it many times in office. In fact he issued an Executive Order (HSPD 25/NSPD66) an environmental directive endorsing the adoption of UNCLOS just before he left office.
Most of the planets surface is made up of ocean, so in effect this would be giving control of the planet to the UN. The convention calls for jurisdiction to anything below, at, or above the sea line. That means all travel, military action, trade, and resources. Of course if the UN is to have control over something that means they are going to want to control other things that might have an affect on the oceans. So that would mean control over river/deltas, or any possible runoff that may come from the land either through the shore line or rivers. Which means any activity from farming to manufacturing could come under indirect control of the UN for supposed environmental reasons. Now I am not saying we should pollute in fact I am of the belief that private ownership of property promotes more environmentalism than any government entity ever could. Of course if there is a conflict economically, militarily, environmentally then it would obviously need a legal system to solve the dispute.
One of the more insidious functions of LOST is the International Seabed Authority. This entity would require any company or nation for the fact to get permission to mine for resources. Not only that, but pay a royalty fee in which it would distribute equally around the world.
The US as one of the world's largest naval, political, and economic powers non-ratification of LOST has not really given the treaty the teeth it needs to be effective. LOST would be one of the biggest death nails in the concept of National Sovereignty if allowed ratification.
List as to why oppose LOST 1) Loss of Sovereignty 2) More authority to the UN over nations, states, and individuals 3) Back door for more environmental regulations that are not really about the environment. 4) Economic restrictions and money flow to the ISA/UN 5) Military restrictions (granted we should not fight but nations should be able to decide that not a central governing power for the world that has demonstrated corruptibility in the past) 6) International Judiciary 7) Redistribution of wealth AKA Socialism/Communism
We must let our opposition to this be heard! For more detail on LOST see the links and video below. Most of what I know came from the below information.

The US Senate race in Kentucky just got quite a bit more interesting. On Thursday evening May 14th, Rand Paul announced on the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC he is forming a campaign "Exploratory Committee" in order to begin raising the necessary funds to continue traveling Kentucky meeting with and talking to Kentuckians about the issues that are of concern to them and to introduce himself as a viable and reliable choice to represent Kentucky in the US Senate. Dr. Rand Paul is the son of Dr. Ron Paul, a recent Presidential candidate and current congressman from Texas. Rand Paul is from Bowling Green, Kentucky and is a successful ophthalmologist. His wife Kelley is a native Kentuckian from Russellville. They have 3 children and have been married for 18 years. Many people from across Kentucky and from across the nation have been anxiously waiting for this opportunity to support a candidate that has been well grounded in the principles of the founding fathers and limited constitutional government and he can be expected to follow in the excellent example of his father, Ron Paul, who has well earned the title "Champion of the Constitution". Kentucky will at last see a candidate that will take the "oath of office" seriously and who will not just talk the talk about limited constitutional government. Not many Kentuckians would disagree that the federal govenment is far too big and has grown increasingly far too powerful as we continue to lose more of our precious liberties. Congratulations Dr. Rand Paul! Your decision to enter into this most important campaign will further fuel the hopes of Kentuckians far and wide that the message of limited govenment and of liberty is alive and well. It is the message of preserving our precious liberties by following the rule of law established by the US Constitution that will bring Kentuckians together for a successful campaign. In a deflating economy you will want to grow your own crops, learn how the government wants to control and pollute your food by studying these cooperate created bills. Don't take my word for it, ask Michelle Obama...

It's all about control Posted: April 11, 2009
The people who created the government were absolutely convinced that the people had to control the government. The people who now run the government are absolutely convinced that the government has to control the people. This transformation of the function of government is the primary reason why America's manufacturing industry has moved offshore; why it has created an "entitlement" society; and why it has made America's educational system devolve into an embarrassment. And it is getting worse. Campaign for Liberty member Alan Brown, Jr. testified before the Kentucky House Elections Committee in Frankfort regarding a Senate Bill that "is an affront to the individual free press rights of average Kentucky citizens". This was Alan's first time testifying and he did a fantastic job! He read Section 8 of the Kentucky Constitution to the Committee members. This is a perfect example of how Patriots across America are taking a stand against harmful legislation by visiting their state capitols and making their voices heard. You can find information about upcoming committee hearings in your state by visiting your state page and clicking on the link to the State Legislature Page, located under the flag. Thank you for continuing the Revolution, Alan! Update: Thanks to Christopher Hightower for the YouTube version of Alan's remarks.

Every Congressman swears an oath to "... preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." To a casual observer, these words could be interpreted to mean that laws enacted by Congress should be consistent with the requirements of the Constitution. To the majority of Congress, these words mean something else, or have no meaning at all, because much of the legislation produced in Washington has no relationship at all with the Constitution. If we are a nation founded upon the U.S. Constitution, then our laws should be constrained by the Constitution. If we no longer wish to be constrained by our Constitution, we should abandon it and fly by the seat of our congressional pants. Let's have a constitutional showdown. Arizona Representative John Shadegg has introduced the "Enumerated Powers Act" (H.R. 450), which requires that: "Each Act of Congress shall contain a concise and definite statement of the constitutional authority relied upon for the enactment of each portion of that Act." What a great idea! Every congressman who has sworn to "... preserve, protect and defend the Constitution" should eagerly endorse this concept - or be exposed as a blatant hypocrite. The bill was introduced on Jan. 9; it has 18 co-sponsors. This means that 417 representatives are not co-sponsoring the bill - yet. This number could, and should, change. It will not change, however, unless voters force their individual representatives to co-sponsor the bill or publicly explain why not. This is how to have a constitutional showdown: Every person should call his or her representative and ask directly if the representative will co-sponsor and vote for H.R. 450, the Enumerated Powers Act, or to explain why not - in writing. Keep a diary. The staff person who takes your call (get his or her name) will tell you that someone will get back to you. When you haven't heard from the staffer in two days, call again. And again. And again, if necessary. If you haven't gotten a reply in two weeks, after four or more calls, write a letter to every newspaper in your district explaining your request, and the response from your representative. If you get a positive response and a promise to co-sponsor the bill, check with the Library of Congress to make sure your representative has actually signed the bill. When he or she does, write a letter to every newspaper in the district thanking the representative for living up to his oath. Every representative should be hounded by many callers until each representative either co-sponsors the bill or declares why not. But this may not be enough. (Column continues below)
The bill was referred to the Rules Committee and to the Judiciary Committee. Even if the bill had 435 co-sponsors, the chairman of either committee could simply refuse to move the bill from the committee to the floor for a vote. Sadly, this is what has happened to similar bills in the past. They simply die in committee, and the public never even knows such a bill was proposed. Not this time. H.R. 450 should become the theme song of all the "Tea Parties" that are taking place around the country. Glenn Beck's "We surround them" movement should surround Congress with H.R. 450 and the request they sign it, or explain why not. Freedom21 organizations and Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty should join the campaign to force a constitutional showdown. Callers to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity should urge their listeners to focus on H.R. 450, and soon, congressmen will have to sign the bill or explain why they won't. Representative Louise Slaughter chairs the House Rules Committee, and Representative John Conyers chairs the House Judiciary Committee. Both of these committee chairs should be bombarded with phone calls and emails asking that H.R. 450 be brought to the House floor for a recorded vote. Every constituent and every reporter who has an opportunity to ask a representative a question in public should ask whether he supports the Enumerated Powers Act and if not, why not. Nothing short of massive public pressure will force congressmen to take a position on this important bill. Nothing short of a return to the Constitution can save this great nation. This is an easy assignment. Simply enter your zip code in the appropriate box on this web site. Contact information for all your elected officials will be immediately available. It wouldn't hurt to print this information and keep it handy. You may discover that you like taking an active part in influencing your government. Be polite when you call or write, but be firm, determined, persistent and loud. Make sure that your neighbors know what your representative has to say. Forcing Congress to return to the U.S. Constitution may be the most important service we can perform for our country. Greetings everyone, I wanted to take the time to give an update on our progress and accomplishments in the Kentucky Legislative session. There are still two more days, March 26th and 27th, left in the session after the "veto" period. See the "Legislative Calendar". First let me share one of our biggest accomplishments. We had many more people involved in the legislative process than we've had in previous legislative sessions. One of the most important things that happened in this session was that more of our followers and supporters got to know many of the legislators, learned more about how the process works, researched bills and were citizen lobbyists in Frankfort. We had more people attending committee meetings, testifying before committees on legislation and meeting with their legislators in their offices, hallways and the cafeteria. We had many many very important "legislative alerts" letting people who could not be in Frankfort know to call and leave messages for legislators, House and Senate leadership, Committee Chairman and committee members. We did have an important impact on the process and many in the legislature clearly knew we were there and we were serious and concerned about what they were doing. We were able to encourage several legislators to sponsor bills and resolutions dealing with our industrial hemp legislation, stopping the federal Real (Dangerous) ID in Kentucky and our 10th amendment resolution to claim our state sovereignty over an out of control federal government and on other issues. We have had a measurable impact on stopping the continuing efforts to chip away at our 2nd Amendment rights and our 1st Amendment "free (printing) press" rights. There were: 190 Senate Bills introduced 159 Senate Resolutions introduced 544 House Bills introduced 2 28 House Resolutions introduced That of course is a massive amount of bills and resolutions to try to keep up with, research, track through the legislative process, have an impact on if we can or should and to testify on if needed. Many of the bills and resolutions were simply to "adjourn the house or senate in memory of noted individuals" but many could have and will have a real impact on the lives, liberty and freedom of all Kentucky citizens. To be successful as citizen lobbyists we need a growing list of citizen lobbyists, researchers and people who have developed a personal working relationship with their elected House and Senate representatives. We now have a number of people who have participated for their first time in the legislative process and who can encourage and inspire others to be involved in this most important task. This year's legislative session was a "short" off year session and next year will be even more important being a "long" regular 90 day session. There will also be an ongoing and growing need for people to be involved in or monitoring the many "interim committee" meetings that take place between legislative sessions. We may not have been successful with our industrial hemp legislation and other legislation this year. However, during the interim meetings leading up to the next legislative session in 2010 we will be working on drafting legislation and educating more representatives in the House and Senate and preparing for success with industrial hemp and other issues in the next session. Here are some bills and resolutions we worked on in this session: Senate Joint Resolution 73 and House Joint Resolution 133 concerning the "Real ID" issue. House Concurrent Resolutions HCR 168 and HCR 172 concerning "state sovereignty". House Bill 419 regarding 2nd amendment rights to bear arms. Senate Bill 131 concerning allowing our farmers to grow industrial hemp. House Bill 53 concerning titling of all-terrain vehicles. Senate Bill 62 and now House Bill 325 which has been amended in the Senate to contain the language of Senate Bill 62 concerning 1st amendment rights. We will be planning for a "Take Back Kentucky"/"Campaign for Liberty" day in Frankfort later this spring or summer to give others an opportunity to learn more about the legislative process, to learn their way around the Capitol and to become more interested in and willing to research legislation and to play an important role in the 2010 legislative session and beyond. In the meantime I want to continue to encourage everyone to take an active role in their local city and county governments and to take an ever increasing interest in what government is doing on the local, state and federal level. Government may be our problem, but our biggest problem is for the people to not understand government at all levels and to take an active role in keeping government functioning within the bounds of the state and federal constitutions. Many of you have heard me say this before and I believe it to be true: "The world is run by those that show up." We need to be showing up armed with well researched, well prepared and well presented positions on issues that impact our lives and liberty. We clearly can and should be doing this at the local and state levels and we need people willing to step up and run for elected offices where necessary. To do this candidates or potential candidates need to be well prepared. 2010 will be one of the biggest election years of all. All local city and county elected offices in addition to many judges and state representative and state senate seats will be on the ballot. We will also be electing someone to one of Kentucky's US Senate seats currently occupied by Sen. Jim Bunning. If you're tired of the direction government is going in or concerned about your liberty and the liberty and freedom of your children, grandchildren and beyond; then you must begin now getting better prepared to meet the challenges of campaigns and elections as well as the legislative processes. There simply can not be too many people doing this and we will continue to help our members and supporters learn how to participate and help. "Change" doesn't just happen, and as we have all witnessed change and "yes we can" doesn't always provide the best results and future for our state and our nation. It is only through citizen and voter involvement in the process that we can and will secure our rights, liberty and the future of our nation. It is very easy to become discouraged, especially when we have not been as successful as we had hoped in the legislative process. But what we have learned and will learn in the process will only make us more effective and successful in the future. Please get involved, stay involved and encourage others to join us or to support our efforts. It'll be well worth your time, energy and resources that you dedicate to the process. Regardless of how small or large that may be. Thanks to all those who have been involved and who have already sacrificed their time, talent and treasure to preserving our liberty and to the other groups who we have a good working relationship with! This coalition of individuals and groups is most important and truly gratifying. Together we can and will make a huge difference! If you haven't seen this it is very inspiring. If you have seen it, it's worth seeing again.
It's what Nick is doing as a man and what we need to do as a nation. Don't lose hope unless you've decided to give up and not try to restore our Constitutional Republic and our Liberty. Proof (see video below) once again that "where there is a will there is a way". God provides a way for those willing, not to those who wait for someone else (even God) to do it for them. Many people pray for God to do things for them, like saving our nation. Yet He will only provide the way if we are willing to act and not just hope and pray.
Unfortunately, far too many don't have a hope, prayer or the will to do something. That must, pardon the expression, change. One person, one neighborhood, one county, one congressional district and one state at a time.
Thank you, to all the people who understand and are acting every day to regain and preserve our Liberty.
In Liberty,
John Riley

As I look into the eyes of my grandchildren, full of innocence and trust, I wonder what kind of America they will inherit from me. I’ve spent my life supporting my family and being a responsible member of society. I know this is what any responsible person does but looking back, the one thing I failed in was being active in community politics. Sure I vote and discuss the election during each election cycle but I never really got involved nor understood how our government works. It was just too easy to blame Washington and our elected officials. By my own ignorance of the political process, I allowed things to happen that have this country on the verge of bankruptcy.
I feel shame as I read about the sacrifice our founding fathers suffered to establish this country and the protective measures they implemented to control Washington and our elected officials. The invisible war they fought against corrupt monetary systems under the guise of central banks. They sounded the battle cry and I choose not to hear it, they died for personal freedom and liberties but I choose not to see it, they led by example the concept of limited government but I choose not to speak about it. What kind of America will I leave for my Grandchildren, the responsibility of this is mine and mine alone but no longer will ignorance be my master?
The remaining time I have left will be time of involvement. I will know local politics better than my elected officials but most importantly, I will teach my Grandchildren and encourage them to understand and be politically active. It’s so easy to forget that our elected officials truly work for us and that our government works for us and it takes personal commitment and a lot of courage to be involved and speak the truth no matter how unpopular it is. When I look into the eyes of my Grandchildren I want to see this, my Grandpa taught us about our government and instilled in us our personal responsibility as citizens. This is how we can take back America.

It is very difficult to imaging the Founding Fathers being able to stand for Liberty and to construct the Constitution, had it not been for a vast understanding of Human Nature and the past. Much of their understanding of Human Nature can be attributed to their study of the Bible. Much of their knowledge of the past can be attributed to their studies. Americans today lack way too much of both, thus are setting themselves up to fail to preserve what the Founding Generation sacrificed so much to establish and hand down. The Church has the responsibility to foster the people's understanding of the Bible, but who is responsible for fostering the people's understanding of the past? The school system in this country has failed. Even the parents have failed, often because their school failed them. This education of the past, especially the foundational past of this country, is largely neglected, thus is seldom learned or passed on. There is an organization out there, throughout America that is dedicated to teaching today's Americans about the Foundational Past, that has handed them their Liberties on a silver spoon. This organization is the Revolutionary War Veterans Association (RWVA) www.rwva.org . The RWVA is an all Volunteer, 501.c.3, non-profit organization that conducts two day rifle marksmanship clinics, nation wide, with a very health dose of Foundational American History/Heritage weaved into the course. These clinics are called Appleseed Shoots. The goal of the program is to reintroduce today's Americans to the people that sacrificed so much to secure the Freedoms and Liberties that many take for granted today. Since February, 2006, when the program started, there have been over 200 of these Appleseed Shoots/Clinics. For 2009, there will be nearly 300 nation wide. To say that the program is really growing fast, would be an understatement. 2009 has on tap, the possibility to see over 10,000 people come through the program. Spending 2 very solid days of rifle marksmanship instruction and American Heritage instruction. With many of these folks coming away energized, woken up and wanting to do something practical to help preserve the nation that has been passed on to them. With shoots in over 37 states, and a goal of all 50 for 2009, there is bound to be on near you. Keep an eye on the schedule and come on out and see for yourself how exciting and energizing this Appleseed program is. I suspect you may find that this is a great program to fulfill that education gap that is contributing to the decline in this nation. Feel free to contact me for additional information, if you desire. The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote. Her speech was concise. She said, “If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream.” She sat down. The class went wild. “Yes! Yes! We want ice cream.” How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn’t sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn’t know. The class really didn’t care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide. God help us. Tags: |

Hello everyone! I hope you are finding your way around the new website okay. This is one of the features of the site. We can have our own blog right here on the Kentucky C4L site and it hopefully will cut down the massive amounts of email from the various meet-up groups. Feel free to post your comments here and if you are not a paid member and you want me to post something on the blog just email it to me. Let's see if we can make good use of these new tools. I'll look forward to your comments. John Riley, "Interim Kentucky State Coordinator" Categories: Grassroots News Tags: Kentucky blog |

There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day the Prof. noticed one young man who kept rubbing his back, as if his back hurt. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government. In the midst of his story he looked at the professor asked a strange question. He asked, " Do you know how to catch wild pigs?" The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down on a side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. "The pigs are used to the free corn and start to come through the gate to eat; you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around inside the fence, but they’re caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity." That is exactly what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms-just a little at a time. One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free Lunch! If you see all of this wonderful government 'help' as a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably destroy this, but God help you when the gate slams shut! In this very important election year, listen closely to what the candidates are promising you-just maybe you will be able to tell who is about to slam the gate on America.
