Senator Bayh would not have a town hall event with any of the Patriots around the state that asked him during his vacation. On the 24th of October Senator Bayh did come to Fort Wayne to get campaign money at a fundraiser. We thought we would be there too. I was very happy to get signatures for S 604 as many of these people had never heard of CFL

Hi all after delivering our signatures on September 15th asking our two Senators (R) Lugar and (D) Bayh here in Indiana we asked to have a meeting with our Senators. On Monday the aid at the Fort Wayne Office for Senator Lugar called me to let me know that we could come in and have a conference call with the Senators aids that are in Washington. We asked questions on many of the bills that are before our congress and asked them to vote no but in part 3 of the videos I asked about S 604 and if Senator Lugar would co-sponsor this bill as a Republican and a conservative. We were told NO not at this time. I was very disappointed and if you watch video 4 you will hear me tell them maybe it is time to fire our Congressmen if they don't listen or even talk to the people Please join me in lighting up Congressman Lugar's phone lines telling him he must co-sponsor this bill. Please come and help us to hold these politicians accountable. I do want to say the two aides were very nice and informative as they could be and I appreciate that they were willing to talk to us, but as I tell them in the video they are not who we elected. part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqeVZBwTiR0 part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w6hmpb3Mto Part 3 (talking about S 604) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd5VV751Znk part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOmB-0Rmu9M

Here is a news clip footage of the event we were at tonight we are still waiting for the whole actual event but there were some amazing speakers and am so glad I attended. Ric Runestad spoke so wonderfully about the Federal Reserve and more specifically HR 1207 and S 604. I also got hundreds of signatures for S 604 and stacking them up to deliver on September 15th as neither of our Congressmen are Co- Sponsor's of S 604 . Anita (mom) did camera so wonderfully for public access who has the whole thing on film. I will have more video up as I get it. http://www.indianasnewscenter.com/news/local/56679712.html Tags: |

Greetings to all Hoosiers that are defenders of liberty!
Make plans to be there! If you can't make it to this location, contact your local coordinator with the Campaign for Liberty. If you can't make one of the larger events please plan a smaller one at local Senators office
If that's not enough motivation (really?), the Campaign for Liberty is offering prizes for truly outstanding efforts. The person who collects the most signatures in the state (as certified by a State, Regional, or County Coordinator) will win a Campaign for Liberty silver coin and a pocket Constitution autographed by the great Ron Paul. And if Indiana collects the most signatures (as a percentage of the population), we'll win a $1,500 gift certificate to the Campaign for Liberty store. Any Questions? Update # 2 on Town Hall events Lugar's office called me today to tell me that Lugar is not going to be in Indiana at these times so I asked her when will he be in Indiana this month while he is on vacation. She replied he won't be. She then asked me, what did I want to ask the Senator about and I said voters across the state wanted to know what his votes will be like on a number of different bills and I did not want to speak for everyone and she said so which ones. So I named a few I said Health Care for one and she Said Lugar's vote is no and I said thats good. Now here is the sad part, I asked her about Cap and Trade she said she did not know his vote on that and then I asked about the Pass act http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-1261 and she said not sure what I am talking about, I did not remember the bill number. The next one I asked her about was S 604- Audit the fed. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-604 She was not aware of that one either she said, I explained it to her and she did not know what I was talking about. I even asked about the Clean Water and restoration Act http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h110-2421 and she was not aware of this bill either. I then asked one of my personal questions to the Senator was what authority in the constitution did Mr. Lugar have for these bills. She asked what did I mean, was I asking about the president the president, I said no, congress has enumeriated powers and thier are very few in the constitution and she was not sure what I meant. I then asked if she did not know these answers it was even more important that the voters of this state get a chance to talk to Mr. Lugar so that we can ask these and other questions and she said he will be out of state at conferences. I said we are his employer and he really needs to talk to us. She said have you wrote him your thoughts, I said yes of course I have. But when i get an answer back it is the same form letter and does not really answer the questions I have asked and she said oh. She ended the call by saying that she would let Senator Lugar know that I dont like his letters. I ended the call by telling her that many of the residents of this state would be calling to extend this invition and for Mr. Lugar to make time to come to an event and answer some questions before he goes back and votes. (since my state Representative is already opposed to the health care issue, I fashioned the following letter to Senator Bayh in opposition of the health care bill, which appears to be on an inevitable course to reach the Senate) Senator Bayh: I have included a detailed analysis in this correspondence as to the impacts of the current health care reform bill being worked on by our Congress, a bill that will eventually reach you and your colleagues in the Senate. The impact study is provided below: http://www.liberty.edu/media/9980/attachments/healthcare_overview_obama_072909.pdf I urge you to not only vote against the Senate version of the bill, but use whatever power and influence you may have to convince your colleagues to vote against this issue as well. My outright hope is that you find a way to make sure this never even comes to a vote and is rejected before reaching the Senate floor. The health care bill proposed by the current Congress is not a bill that can merely be adjusted and fixed; it's an abomination that is beyond hope for fixing our problems. If anything, the problems will only worsen if this bill passes. It isn't just a matter of monetary cost; this bill will cost real lives and cause real pain in real people. As a US Senator, you are a representative of the people and are expected to act in our best interest. It is clear that this bill is not in our best interest. I've heard the supporter's claims on this bill, including our President's, and after reading the bill in its entirety and fully digesting the impacts, which are best summarized in the link posted above, it is clear we are not being provided an honest assessment of what we will be forced into. I am reluctant to say this, but the authors and supporters of this bill, including Mr. Obama, are lying to us and I expect you, as my representative, to call them out on this and fight against this bill at every turn. The health care system in our nation is a mess, I agree with this; however, no one has bothered to properly study the issue to be able to offer any solutions. Increasing costs and an increasing number of individuals who are uninsured is not the problem itself; it is the symptom of the problem. The American medical system is a sick patient and Congress is currently behaving like a new age medicine man who adorns his trailer park office with printed "degrees" from the Internet in strange holistic medicines. You cannot just start simply throwing cures at the patient. You first need to understand why the patient is sick. There exists no medicine that treats fever, there are numerous maladies that cause fevers and each of them requires a different treatment. Numerous factors cause prices to increase and access to decline. Like any other product or service, medical care is a business that exists in the market and operates on the same market laws that economists have understood for centuries. When a price increases, that means either supply is restricted or demand is artificially increased, or a combination of the two. The US medical system suffers from both. Further, Congress, including your Senate colleagues, fails to identify what the end result is to be. "Access to all" is a vague promise. Without clearly defining what your end result should be, it will most likely create problems. The current health care bill only exasperates existing conditions that are creating the problems in our health care system since the bill fails to provide access to all and does little more than restrict supply via Federal blocks on hospital expansions and reducing the incentives to enter into the medical field via salary caps without concern for specialty. It also will drive up demand by adding 47 million citizens and countless non-resident aliens, legal and otherwise, into an already strained system. Once the problem is identified and an end result is formulated, THEN a plan of action can be built to bridge the problem to the solution. Currently, Congress wants to build this bridge without concerning itself where it should be built from and where it should be built to or even considering what the terrain of the riverbed. I am a financial auditor by trade and am well versed in the realm of economic thought. While I am still young and have not established a name or career, I can still offer my detailed analysis of the cause, effects and possible solutions to our health care problems. You are free to contact me at my home phone listed in the correspondence form or via cell phone at [edited out] if you are interested in discussing, in detail, my analysis of our health care system and what I believe are viable solutions. The President is right on one matter, the health care reform Congress ultimately passes will be historic. The question is whether history will remember that as the pivotal point where the great American experiment in liberty and freedom died or the day that very experiment was saved. I would like you to be remembered in history books as the man who saved the Republic from its destruction and proved Dr. Alexander Tytler's prediction that all Democratic nations are doomed to fail and I would like to be a part of that by providing the support necessary, either by my words here or a deeper and more important role in shaping these issues. Regards, Justin Murray

It's been over a month since I made an entry here, and so much has transpired since then. The Campaign is going well, Rachels' name and face is getting around. We've been focusing on all the County Fairs, and Town Festivals. Nearly all the ppl we meet have been pleasant, and many have pleged their votes. Much of the past month has been spent in Elkhart County, and with the help of Mike Orgill, we intend to make Elkhart County, "RACHEL COUNTRY". That part of our district has been very hard hit with unemployment, and the voters are scared due to the brutal unemployment stats there. As a very different approach to helping Elkhart County, the incumbent Congressman took $250,000 in stimulus money and invested in special prosecutors to stem the surge in Meth Labs and abuse. Did I miss something? The county has 16% unemployment and Congressman Souder drops a quarter million on special prosecutors? It's hard to believe. Anyway, we worked very hard canvassing the Elkhart County Fair, and Rachel made some friends in the County GOP while she was in the parade. Plus she met some very good ppl in the Elkhart County Patriots group. She had a blast in the parade, until it poured down rain! She was soaked by the time they got to the fairgrounds. The GOP told her Mr. Souder has never made an appeareance at that parade, and they were grateful she made the effort to be a part of their float and exhibit. The web site has been up for nearly 2 months, and the hits to the site reflect whenever we canvass hard. All in all I think we made 4 trips to the fair, and passed out thousands of her business cards to ppl, and we also left them on car door windows. Thousands of them in Elkhart/Goshen. And the parking lot at that fair is way HUGE. Very easy to lose track of where you parked, and even easier to get lost and seperated from each other. Thank the Lord for cell phones..... But the best news is Rachel4Congress.info now has a feature to allow her supporters to donate to the campaign. She has set a goal of $5000, and today is the first day for donations. If anyone in the 3rd District, or anywhere for that matter, want to see a first class Patriot elected to the US Congress, please donate to Rachels' campaign. She is truly grassroots, and without your donations, she will not be able to purchase the media needed to mount an effective campaign against Mark Souder in the Primary Election. You will never find a more Constitutionally minded lady than Rachel Grubb. Mike Orgill (morgill) is coordinating the first Campaign Organizational Meeting next weekend. Where: Goshen Public Libary, Everyone is invited, and special guests include Rachel Grubb, 3rd district Congressional Candidate, and Melissa Lineberry, Campaign for Liberty State Coordinator. Please plan to attend, We expect for the meeting to last about 2 hours. We need your support, and also your input. We don't know it all, and welcome feedback from supporters of Rachels' Campaign. See you at the Library! GaryD Categories: Campaign For Liberty, Republican Party, Grassroots News, Action Item, US Constitution, Congress Tags: Rachel, Souder, elkhart, Goshen |

I found this article about congressional employees cancelling town hall meetings because of unruly constituents. While I doubt this is the 'whole story' let us continue to be peaceful and firm while asking for accountability from our congressional employees. Upon reading the article I found that one Rep. actually called his constituents an unruly mob preventing an intelligent conversation from happening. What a condescending statement that says a whole lot about how he views his constituents. YES, too many members of Congress are career politicians and have been hoping that we go back to our favorite distraction and get out of their hair! I am so proud that is NOT happening, check out this vid from a town hall meeting in Missouri.
District 2 August calendar for town hall meetings and "get to know Joe" events These Donnelly events are called: "Congress on Your Corner: A Chance to Meet One-on-One with Joe" and are scheduled for: August 29, 11:00 am, Delphi, IN, Wallman's Quality Food, 123 E. Franklin St. August 29, 1:00 pm , Logansport, IN, Martin's Super Market, 3420 E, Market St. August 30, 10:00 am (CDT), Michigan City, Al's Supermarket, 2600 Franklin St. September 5, 10:00 am, Rochester Public Library, 320 W. 7th St, Room A Also, in addition, the Congressman will be having three Town Hall Meetings: We have Congress behaving like an addict on a binge and it is spiraling out of control. Whole depts that never existed now exist, power is being transferred from legislative branch to the executive branch, there are confirmed communists being appointed as czars and to date there are 39 of these czars. See the definition and origin of the word here http://www.answers.com/topic/czar Why is such a term even being used in an open society? It is entirely associated with cruel and tyrannical dictator, emperor, monarchy. And now our government is using this very language??? The Whitehouse website has adlibbed version of Bill of Rights on a government website, see my earlier post here http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=14008 My point is that there is much corruption and action that is taking us away from a free society. We are being hit hard from all directions, I think it is to overload the system. Add in a good dollop of fear so that we will give permission to make it go away and we will wake up no longer legally able to make any decisions for ourselves. We will be wards of the government; we will not have to make any decisions, all will be made for us. We won't have to decide what kind of car to drive, consult privately with our doctor, teach our children values or morals, protect ourselves, eat what we want, drink what we want, love who we want, work as hard as we want, own anything, bow our head to pray in public, have any privacy whatsoever, participate in private contracts, and speak freely about our own views. We already have to get permission for marriage, grow a garden, hunt to feed our families, fish to feed our families, start a business, fix up the house, assemble in public places, and have a pet. We are being taxed to death and taxes are used as a tool for social engineering. 50-60% of what any of us make is paid in some kind of tax. Many things have multiple taxes and those are taken from us before we even get it. If any of us were to do that we would be put in jail for theft. We are being tagged, inventoried and monitored in every aspect of our lives. Unless we do something we will wake up as wards of the state. That is legal speak for property of the state and we let it happen. Oh the irony.................... So in closing I would like to reiterate that in order for us to be 'heard' we must remain peaceful and firm. WE have seen that any excuse will be given to cancel a meeting so let us not give them any. Just like a spoiled rotten child that is insisting everything be it's way, as the guardian we must continue to be patient, firm and peaceful. Afterall, we allowed this happen, we were not paying attention.

Senator Tom Coburn has proposed an amendment in the Senate Health Committee that would require members of Congress to switch from their current health insurance plans to any government provided insurance scheme that's created as part of proposed health care legislation. Contact your congressional employees and let them know you want them to support Tom Coburns' amendment in the Senate Health Committee that would require members of Congress to switch from their current health insurance plans to any government provided insurance scheme that's created as part of proposed health care legislation. It can be as simple as this........ "I approve of the Coburn amendment added to the Senate health care bill. Congress should have to switch their health insurance coverage to any so-called "public plan" they create for the American people. If you aren't willing to do that then you shouldn't be voting for this bill." I copied and pasted most of this from the Downsize DC website. I am very busy in the garden and don't have the time to write a ditty. Besides, it is pretty simple; if our congressional employees are not willing to switch to a public plan they shouldn't be supporting this legislation. It is that simple.................. On a slightly different note the democrats introduced legislation that prohibits the usage of individual members of Congress to use the term "government run healthcare" when responding to constituents since the mailing costs are paid for by their budgets. They can however use this term providing that they pay for the mailing costs themselves. Interesting............I continued to be surprised at the levels of control, manipulation and coercion ALL politicians go to just to get their way. Duddn't matter if they are democrat or republican, both sides are behaving the same. We need more statesmen! Elect a statesmen in your area in 2010.

I was browsing around the newswire and found this piece http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090708/ts_alt_afp/environmentwarmingusprotest I agree that we do not need more politicians, we need more statesmen. Politicians make decisions based on the next election. Statesmen make decisions based on the repercussions of that decision and in accordance with the constitution. BIG dif............... Leaders? I am not so sure of, so far we have crappy politicians pretending to be leaders. Until they get thrown off of their pedestal and then we wonder what went wrong? It is time to focus on the issues and not the individual. People may falter but issues and ideas are something people can get behind regardless of party affiliation. Once we do then more statesmen will come forward to represent We the People.

Just got this message from the Todd Young for Congress campaign:
In my 10 years of closely following Congressional activities, I cannot recall any other bill that would have a more devastating impact on Indiana than this legislation. Not only is it potentially the biggest tax increase I have ever seen, it is the most regressive. It saddens me to think of what this carbon tax bill will do to Hoosiers on fixed incomes who are already having trouble paying their electric bills. This legislation has the potential to practically double those bills almost overnight. Seven of Indiana's nine Congressional representatives figured out just how bad the carbon tax bill was for Indiana and voted no. To the two who voted yes, Baron Hill and Andre Carson, I can only ask: What were they thinking!!?? Had they exercised the good judgment of the rest of the Hoosier delegation, the tax bill would have failed. Admittedly, it would have been hard to read all of the bill's 1,300 pages in the few hours they were available to members of Congress before the vote was taken, but key information was available. For instance, both the Energy Information Administration and Congressional Budget Office published tables showing exactly how each state's citizens would be affected by so-called "cap and trade" allowances established in the bill. Those tables show that electricity consumers in Indiana would have to pay $763 million more each year for electricity so their power companies could buy carbon offsets. Only Texas would pay more than Indiana! Perhaps not surprisingly, the bill allocates extra credits to California and New York so their ratepayers won't see an immediate jump in their electric bills. It's not clear yet what this bill will do to gasoline prices - but they won't go down. Does anybody remember how painful it was to pay in excess of $4 a gallon? There are two main reasons Indiana remains one of the better states for manufacturing. Our energy costs are relatively low and we have a good quality work force. This bill wipes out the first reason and punishes our workers with a major new tax they do not deserve. Supporters of this legislation will tell Hoosiers the Congressional Budget Office estimates that the average cost per family for carbon offsets will be $175 a year - or, as the spin-doctors are saying, "about the price of a postage stamp per day." But I would urge Hoosiers to look closely at just how the CBO reached this conclusion. The CBO found that the "gross" cost of this legislation would be $890 per household. The CBO then assumed that all of the proposed "rebates" to taxpayers and businesses adversely affected by cap-and-trade would actually take place. In other words, the CBO is taking Congress at its word that this massive pile of new revenue won't be spent by Congress or applied to the hemorrhaging national debt. Of course not. Congress will give every penny back. Honest! What's really going on here is that the CBO was asked to make its estimate under the very best of circumstances, not the most likely of circumstances. Now it becomes clear why so many respected economists are estimating the bill's cost as much higher than what the CBO has published. I recognize that many Americans are legitimately concerned about climate change and what will happen to the planet if we do not rein in CO2 emissions. But I reject the notion that we have to cripple our economy to address these concerns. The technology exists today to produce energy in many ways without pumping CO2 into the atmosphere. Here in Indiana, we are moving forward with clean-coal technology that offers a very promising solution. Elsewhere in the world, many countries are moving forward with safe, modern nuclear technology that carries none of the dangers associated with the mega-reactors built a half century ago. And, wind and solar can be made cost-effective in some areas of the country with some initial infrastructure expense. A combination of all of these technologies would result in far more reductions of CO2 than are likely to be achieved under this carbon tax bill. And, with none of the economic handicaps. Our only chance of heading off such an economic disaster is for Americans to rise up and declare their opposition to it. And in Indiana, we've got more reasons to oppose this bill - 763 million reasons, to be exact - than any other state but Texas. _________________________________________________________________________________ Categories: Domestic Policy, Republican Party, Federal Legislation, Current Events, World Affairs, Economy, Trade Tags: todd young, congress, cap and trade, environment, carbon tax, energy tax, |

I am forming an exploratory committee to find out what sort of chance I would have running against incumbant Mark Souder. I have been talking to folks throughout the 3rd District, and most people agree, it is time for a change. We know that most of Congress has lost their marbles when it comes to defending the constitution. I would like to change that. I am up against almost insurmountable odds. This election isn't until 2010 and Mr. Souder has already collected campaign funds to the tune of $50,000. The election isn't for another year yet! Some of the things that I believe in are
1. 2nd amendment - This is a VITAL part of who we are as Americans. The founders knew what tyranny was, and for them the only option was to keep the general populus armed. This RIGHT is being assaulted every day by the legislative branch. We are seeing ominous rumblings of TOTAL gun control...to help with the drug problem in Mexico and the violence associated with it. We all know that if you close the boarders that the overspill of violence will subside. And that brings me to ... 2. Anti-illegal immigration - I have no problems with any one of any race. My problem is when you break the law ( and it is breaking the law) to achieve the "american dream". Those rules and regulations were put into place, not to punish Mexicans(or Canadians, or Malaysian, or Chinese or anyone else for that matter). It was put into place to make it hard to become an American. This ensures that it is worth it to those that want to make a go at it. This will stop a lot of the overcrowding of our schools, hospitals, and our already overburdened Social programs. 3. Fiscal Responsibility - This is one that most representatives throw out the window. We need to stop throwing money at business' hoping that things will change. Along with fiscal responsibility comes personal responsibility. The people behind the bailout need to accept that these corporations have failed. If I had a small business and I mismanaged my finances, I would not expect a "bailout". These greedy banksters are sucking the taxpayers dry. 4. Sound Money - This goes along with Fiscal Responsibility. Article I, Section 8 states that Congress shall have the power "To coin Money, regulate the value thereof, ..." With the PRIVATE federal reserve coining our money we have broken this promise to the American Public. I want to work to returning the 3rd District to Sound Money policies. 5. I believe our representatives should be accessible. The days of "form letters" and not addressing concerns is over. The only way to truely represent a district is to listen to its constituents. I will be accesible to all residents of the 3rd district. I was born in Fort Wayne, and grew up in HIcksville Ohio. I graduated from Hicksville High School in 1988. I am married and have two children Philip age 18. He is a senior this year. YAY. I have a 17 year old daughter, MIchelle. I became interested in politics about two years ago. Before that I was blatently apathetic. I have seen the way this country is headed and I don't like it one bit. I am willing to step up to the plate to change the status quo. I believe we can once again have the country that our Founding Fathers envisioned. Live Free or Die!! I liken myself to this quote "Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the trouble makers. The round pegs in the square holes, the ones who see things differently. Hi here are a few updates that I have been emailed about for what went on around the state of Indiana on April 28 for Action Alert on HR 1207 (If you have a story or pics please send them to me) District 2- From Rusty http://www.campaignforliberty.com/user/rusty75/ I went down to his office and dropped off about 20 and there was already a couple sitting there. Also Chasen came in with about 20 while i was there talking to Dwayne, one of his staffers and friend for 25 years. If i had a camera we probably wouldnt of had the good conversation that we had. Dwayne said he didnt see anything wrong with transparency. I think this is encouraging. He even went as far as to say he didnt agree with Obamas spending plans. Three weeks ago Joe was on wndu talking against Obamas new spending plan and voted against it. Lydia Scott blogged about her experience today http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=17096
District 6- Kerry Beard and myself went down to Mr. Pence's office to Thank him for co-sponsoring this bill http://www.flickr.com/photos/33298623@N08/3487064317/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/33298623@N08/3487880348/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/33298623@N08/3487880230/ Here is Kerry's blog about the experience http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=17188
District 8- Tim Dyer Made it out to hand Brad Ellsworth's office some signatures
District 9- Andrew and crew posted the video that was made to showcase thier efforts http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=17062 Categories: Ron Paul, Campaign For Liberty, Federal Legislation, Current Events, Monetary Policy Tags: |

We need to push this thing over the top and get Baron Hill to cosponsor HR1207. If you live in te 9th District it is your duty to call his office and urge him to cosponsor this bill! Here is the number to his office: (202)225-5315 Keep up the pressure, the cosponsor list has jumped to 71! This is a record for this bill and it is also in Committee which means it is only ONE STEP away from being put up for a vote!!! If you don't live in the 9th District, call the Capitol Hill Switchboard at (202)224-3121 and ask for your congressperson! NOTE: If you live in the 5th or 6th District your Congressman is Dan Burton or Mike Pence, respectively, who have both already become cosponsors. Call them and thank them for their support! (I have!)

In a major breakthrough for our Liberty movement, Ron Paul's bill H.R. 1207 to Audit the Fed has been referred to the House Committee on Financial Services.. That's a HUGE step forward. Most bills begin by being considered by one or several congressional committees which may "report" the bill favorably or unfavorably to the Senate or House as a whole allowing it to receive consideration by the full body and move forward. We need to influence the House Financial Services Committee to give a favorable report on H.R. 1207 There are 71 members of the House Financial Services Committee with Barney Frank as Chair. Please go to this link and PLEASE contact these members encouraging them to Support H.R. 1207. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/committee.xpd?id=HSBA Draft a simple email and let them know we want transparency and their favorable support of H.R. 1207 to Audit the Fed and. Send an email and/or call each of the members on the committee right away! The phone numbers are listed below. One idea is for each of us to start making calls in a random order from the list to ensure that each Committee member is contacted and not just those with the last name beginning with "A".
Let's focus first on the members of the House Financial Services Committee.
NOW is the time to bring all of our efforts to bear on the situation. If we can get the bill out of Committee with a favorable report it will go to the House floor for a vote! Please copy and paste this Action Alert to fellow Americans on your distribution list and favorite forums asking them to contact the Members of the House Financial Services Committee right away! http://www.govtrack.us/congress/committee.xpd?id=HSBA Here is a video to better understand the importance of transparency and H.R. 1207 Here are the phone numbers:

We had a great turnout for the Fort Wayne Tea Party, let me know if you were there and I would love to hear stories and thoughts from around the state. I passed our hundreds of CFL literature and info about HR 1207. It was so great to see so many like minded people together and I have heard some ideas on how we can continue with the "Tea Parties" stay tuned.................

Just came home from the Tea Party, and I'm stoked! I estimate 2000 people, although News Channel 15 put us at 1000. Who trusts the MSM anyway? LOL The people were very diverse, in age, and in reasons to attend. One common thread was freedom, and runaway government. Allen Keyes spoke as the keynote, and he was spot on. The sound system left much to be desired, but mostly it was great to get out on a perfect day and network with people of a like mind. There were 3 main groups passing out flyers: C4L, Resist.net, and the 9/12. Audrey and Gary Q. were also in attendence, and passed out a ton of pocket Constitutions. We in the C4L capitalized on the opportunity for a captive audience, and worked the crowd passing out tons of C4L flyers, and packets. I had some DVD's and Books, from the JBS.org that went like hotcakes. Don't worry, we passed out more than the other groups! One thing for sure, these people are hungry for freedom, and info. And if all that wasn't sweet enough, I barely saw a cop all day. It was so orderly, and everyone was so pleasant, there was no need for any sort of government interference. Picture a crowd of at least a thousand men, women and children, all gathered for freedom. Then imagine the curbs lined with patriots, holding signs, and the passing traffic, honking their horns in support of this movement. The day was truly inspiring. It made you proud to be an American. Hats off to Wade Hinton, et al for putting this great Tea Party together, and promoting it so well. Word has it there is another gathering planned for the 4th of July. There's plenty of work to be done in the interim. Yours in Freedom, GaryD

Here is a YouTube I put together mixing a radio interview I did for WFHB and some video footage we got at our event:
We were also mentioned in the Indiana Daily Student the next day, although the quality of journalism is notoriously subpar there: http://www.idsnews.com/news/story.aspx?id=67685 Thanks everyone who made it out! We got tons of signatures on our HR1207 petition and handed out a full package of the "flagship" CFL pamphlet. Almost everyone was receptive to the bill and the CFL. Very encouraging stuff!

Take Action Today Call Speaker Bauer today. 1-800-232-9600or 317- 232-9600
Committee meetings are scheduled for Wednesdays and Committee deadlines are tomorrow!! Please ask Speaker Bauer and Chairman GiaQuinta to bring HCR 50 to a committee vote and then onto the House Floor. Rep. GiaQuinta is chairman of Rules and Legislative Procedures which is where HCR 50 now sits dieing. Email them both at: Speaker Bauer - H06@iga.in.gov and Rep. GiaQuinta is H80@iga.in.gov Urge both men to take the leadership position in leading Indiana into righting our state level of government and the powers they hold. We must take advantage of this brush fire ourselves. Thanks, Joyce Categories: Action Item, State Legislation Tags: |

HCR 50 is in Rules and Legislative Procedure Committee on March 12th. The chairman could push it out but will only do so on House Speaker Bauer say so. How do we make a difference? By pressuring Speaker Bauer with 500 or more letters. Why letters because they make the most impact. Indiana House Speaker Pat Bauer Indiana House of Representatives 200 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-2786 Putting your best foot forward, urge the speaker to get this state sovereignty resolution out of committee and onto the House Floor this week so all representatives across the state can put it to a vote. Those folks who profess Hoosier Values and who are in control need their feet held to the fire and we MUST be the ones doing this to both sides of the aisle. I'm told for every 15 paid liberal agenda lobbyist, there is one at our very own state house. If we do not fill that gap, the socialist will and are. If we want change, we have to be the movers and shakers ourselves. go to http://www.incrc.com for further information and action items there! Stay abreast of the situation with following up this week on writing, calling and emailing Speaker Bauer. If and when we get it to the floor, we will need to be getting the word out for Hoosiers across the state to urge their own representatives to vote yes to state sovereignty. All the information is on Indiana Conservative Republican Caucus site for our use. We have until mid April to get this done!!! Thanks everyone!!

It is with great saddness that I inform you all of the passing of Paul Caudell, Wednesday evening. And it is with the utmost and deepest regret, that following this post from me, you will find appended, his obituary.
I spoke with him several times Wednesday.... he was doing better, and expected to be released that next day , but... At about nine Wednesday evening his breathing changed and he fell into a sleep, of which he never awoke. His heart apparently gave out from the added labor of the pneumonia.
Along with sound money, State Sovereignty and defense of the 10th amendment were issues that Paul has been campaigning for for decades... writing hundreds of letters to legislators all over the country, extolling them to defend the rule of law - the Constitution. And he met with success. Paul's keen eye for legislators of such caliber led him to enter into written correspondence with Representative Charles Key in Oklahoma, Representative Jim Guest in Missouri and Senator Greg Walker here in Indiana, all three leading the fight for State Sovereignty in their respective states. I've only known Paul for 9 months.. but I came to know him very well and I am pround to have been able to call him a friend. In retrospect, he became very much of a father figure to me.... and I shall direly miss his counsel, guidance and friendship.
Jerry
Born in Indianapolis, December 17, 1933, he was the son of Robert and Gene Caudell. Survivors include his wife, Peg; his brothers Alan Caudell of Brown County and Robert (Marie) Caudell of Columbus, Indiana; three nephews, Paul M. (Kim) Caudell and Alan J. Caudell, both of Nashville, Tennessee, and Robert G. (Amparo) Caudell of Columbus; and two nieces, Jeani Filip of Madison, Wisconsin, and Chris Sagstetter of Houston, Texas. Paul was a graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a tool and die maker and applied those skills as a marine engineer on underwater expeditions and on boat deliveries, and as a project engineer for a sportfishing camp/hotel in Curacao, Dutch West Indies. Moving to Brown County in 1969, he owned a hardwood planing and molding mill. He later produced higher speed differential gears for older military vehicles and became an OEM representative for Hercules diesel engines. He designed and built state-of-the-art 4x4 and 6x6 vehicles for medical missionaries, archeologists, and other field work personnel. Active in politics his entire adult life, Paul worked diligently and earnestly as a champion for the Constitution. He was a delegate to the 2008 Indiana State Republican Convention and a volunteer for the Ron Paul 2008 Presidential campaign. He also served as District 9 Representative to the Provisional Committee of the Indiana Conservative Republican Caucus. Paul's latest endeavor was as Chairman of the Committee for Indiana Honest Money, where he was having success at reintroducing gold and silver as a currency with legislation introduced this year. His wish was to be cremated. A celebration of his life will be planned for a later time. Friends and loved ones will be apprised of location and date. Condolences may be sent to peg.caudell@indianahonestmoney.com .

Dear Indiana Citizens, Indiana becomes the 13th state this year to file a state sovereignty resolution named (Simple Resolution) SR 0042, asserting our state's rights under the 10th amendment. Indiana Sovereignty Resolution is out of committee, Call your state senators now I just heard that the Indiana Sovereignty Resolution has made it out of committee and got all Aye votes. It will probably hit the floor next Monday for a full vote so please contact your state Senator and ask for full support on SR42. there is already a soapbox set up on Congress.org called Support SR42 by Kokomo In Click on that and you will be able to send an email to your member of the senate. Remember please be considerate but brief and to the point. The last thing we want is for them to associate belligerency with the content of this bill. This is too important and we have come far! Thanks for your continued commitment to being the change!

Readers: Upon the closing of the Campaign for Liberty Regional Conference Day Two events, taken place Saturday, March 28, 2009, a gentleman made a statement advocating that we, as an organization, should "practice what we preach". He stated that there should be transparency in the way that Campaign for Liberty utilizes and spends its private donations and dues. Although I commend him for making the effort of bringing this issue forward, I disagree with this assessment. The 10th amendment states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Our interpretation of this Amendment thus far has been that the Constitution does not grant the United States any power that it does not expressly mention, which I believe to be correct. However, this Amendment can be interpreted in yet another way, while allowing our current interpretation to remain valid. The 10th amendment states, that all powers that are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people, are not delegated to the United States by the Constitution. Because We the People have the power of free speech, the power of free press, and the power of freedom of religion, then the United States shall not use its authority to slander, lie, or create false pretenses; They shall not use the press in a way that we do not approve of; Nor shall they make decisions that are influenced by religious principles or religious tradition. Because We the People have the right to take up arms in the pursuit of justice, in order to guarantee the sacristy of our Constitution, then the United States shall not take up arms to interfere with this endeavor. Because we the people are to "be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized," then the United States must disclose, when asked by a State or local government, a private citizen, or a Representative thereof, without probable cause nor warrant, any and all information requested that does not jeopardize their Oath or Affirmation of Office to protect the Constitution and the general welfare of the American population. AND, because we the people have the protection of rights not specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights, then the United States Federal Government does NOT have that protection.
Please, protect and affirm your rights and liberties, or the United States Government will take them from you. Support HR 1207 by calling your Representative and telling him that he must sponsor, support, and pass the "Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009", because you, a US citizen, taxpayer, and voting constituent, WANT TO KNOW WHERE YOUR MONEY IS.
Yours Truly,

I have emailed Mr Pence concerning co-sponsorship of HR 1207. I think that actually sitting down and hand writing an actual letter may be more effective. I would like to urge all C4L members (especially those in Indidan's 6th District) to join in, and also send him hand written letters on this important piece of legislation. For that matter, anyone whose representative has not co-sponsored HR1207, take a couple of minutes and write them also. Mr Pences offices:

SAVE YOUR FOOD & SMALL FARMERS! The FDA approved CLONED CATTLE, SWINE and GOATS (AND the offspring of all clones) in our food supply on 1/15/08. How can they possibly know the LONG TERM EFFECTS of cloned meat, since the first mammal was only cloned in 1996? HR875, HR759, HR814, HR1105 & S.425 “Best farming practices with proven scientific results” will force farmers to use drugs, pesticides and certain feeds (genetically altered). Farmers won’t be able to have animals and vegetables on the same farm. These become operable with Smart Grid, part of the Stimulus Package. Right now, per writer Linn Cohen-Cole, House Commerce and Agriculture Committees and the Senate Agriculture Committee are having secret meetings regarding these bills, and we won’t even know how they vote. They’ll try to push these bills to House and Senate votes the same day they come out of the Committees. The USDA and Homeland Security have planned six CLOSED-TO-SMALL-LIVESTOCK-OWNERS meetings around “depopulating” animals “in case” there is a disease outbreak. They could completely wipe out normal breeds of animals and substitute genetically engineered animals. Monsanto, Genus and PIC are patenting animal genetics.
The government knows EXACTLY where each animal comes from NOW! NAIS will drive small ranchers out of business, because if they don’t record the birth/death of every animal within about 48 hours, they face huge fines (up to $500,000 and/or 10 yrs. in prison) and forfeitures! WHO PROFITS FROM NAIS? Electronics companies who make the software and tags. Angel Dynamics, a tag producer, is an owner of Verichip (which made the human implant chip). After testing revealed a high rate of cancer in rats implanted with the human implant chip, the USDA bought the chips to shore up Angel Dynamics. Tommy Thompson, Bush’s Secretary of HHS, is now on the Board of Verichip. The USDA and FDA will make money on fines and forfeitures. Small farmers are the only ones producing our SAFE FOODS! Monsanto has brought us PCBs, Agent Orange, dioxin, rBGH in dairy products (so that girls now develop breasts at 8 or 9 years old). The FDA doesn’t label irradiated foods or warn us about foods imported from other countries, which have been grown under who knows what environmental and health conditions. U.S. meat packers and grain traders want to make a huge profit selling safe U.S. food overseas, while the U.S. imports lesser quality foods for Americans to eat. Tableland-a documentary of how and why local food economies work. You will want to eat local food after watching this awesome flick.
There is so much more info so if you have info not on this flyer add it and then pass it around. The person who developed this informative flyer only wants people to have it and use it! No copywrite so freely distribute the info.

http://www.wsbt.com/news/local/39241597.html The good news is the president is coming to Elkhart on Monday for a town meeting. The bad news is you won't be able to ask any questions that are not preapproved, say anything that is not preapproved or hold any kind of sign. The 1st amendment is restricted at this event and any violation will be strictly enforced. Why? This is another photo op to broadcast to the nation for the first 100 days marketing scheme. This administration, like previous administrations are drumming up publicity to broadcast on the syndicated news wire. Cookie cutter and canned news spiels that can be shown to fill up holes where real news used to be. I already have my sign made, it says "I've downsized how about you?". That pretty much says it all doesn't it? I can't figure out why so many elected officials are fine with mortgaging our future and leaving it to the next 10 generations to pay the price? Overwhelmingly, the public is against the bail part deux,(part duh). It is high time we, the people get a grip and start electing people who will actually honor their oath of office. We have no one to blame but ourselves. There is something that can be done, it is not too late. It is the eleventh hour though so time is of the essence. WE have to educate our selves and think for our selves in order to be able to vote someone in who will actually do the job properly. If we are not educated we will continue to fall for empty, meaningless, feel good slogans that the candidates offer up. Bottom line baby, freedom is not for the non thinker. Like any exercise routine we must start small, the brain is no different. You can start right now, here are some suggestions:
Check out independent sources for a different take on current events. Sources include but are not limited to these. You don't need to agree with everything you find on these sites. The point is to exercise the muscle between your ears a little every day and begin the process of thinking for ones self.
It may seem that 2010 is far off but make no mistake, plans are being made already by candidates who plan to run in those races. We will need every second of information and education so we can see past the icing on the cake and determine if the quality of ingredients are grade A or just another lookalike.

Mr. Lugar, I have to admit that I don't have much hope that you will cast a NO vote on the stimulus package. I understand that Barack Obama and his administration's agenda holds a special place in your heart. I am asking that you, before God and the Constitution of the United States that you swore to protect, vote NO on the stimulus package for the right reasons. I understand your Rhodes Scholar background. I also understand the roots of that training. However, neither Fabian socialism nor Keynesian economics, nor, for that matter, the London School of Economics, have a place in the United States of America. The math, and all projections of the true numbers, show that the Senate and the House are leading our Country into economic and social chaos. I have only one card left to play, as I intend to vote against you, with fervor, should you run again for the United States Senate to represent the State of Indiana. You have proven to be a "sheep in wolf's clothing," an appropriate metaphor considering your background as well as your activities. What card do I have left? Here it is, though I do not expect it to appeal to you, as you have long since abandoned the fear of God in word and in deed: "Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure." Mr. Lugar, I don't know how to be more forthright. I've done my homework, and I know that there is insidious activity occurring in our government. We the People were meant to rule - not "you the Senators" or "you the Representatives." The fact that the people of this Country have been misled, and even blinded, is no excuse for saying that we choose any such legislation "with our vote." Those votes have been gained primarily through a policy of non-disclosure. The scary part is that there are those among you and your peers who know exactly what they are doing to our Country, all in the name of some "higher purpose." Mr. Lugar, I name that higher purpose "foolishness," and any who partake in it as fools. "It is a fool who says in their heart, 'There is no God.'" I've made my last appeal to you, Mr. Lugar. And the appeal is more for your benefit than you can even guess - the appeal is for you to consider the very ownership of your soul. A centuries-old battle is approaching its zenith - please consider carefully which side will be victorious, appearances aside. A vote for the Stimulus is nothing more, or less, than a vote for the further, and perhaps conclusive, ruin of your people. Thank you, Tim Dyer PS - Please do not reply with one of your "form letters." Anger, distrust, cynical These are a few adjectives that describe how I felt when I learned another bailout passed thru Congress. I could go on about how Congress refuses to listen to the voice of the people but I wouldn't be saying anything new.... Blah blah blah, someone has already said and you already know it. I do want to say this to you.......... Get involved in the local and state levels, this is the last hope we have of creating change. Here are some suggestions; 1-go to a local council meeting and then submit a letter to the editor in the local paper. 2-learn about state issues and talk to your state Representatives about your position. 3- network with others in like minded groups such as JBS, Conservative or Libertarian groups 4.Get active with these other groups and work together on issues, as long as we are divided we won't get much accomplished. 5.Keep active in C4L and help recruit others, there is strength in numbers 6.Keep on truckin', persistence and patience are useful tools Categories: Grassroots News, Action Item, Current Events, Revolution, Socialism, Economy, Congress Tags: |

My State Senator Jean Leising http://www.in.gov/S42/ has published her legislative survey for her constituents to fill out. Please note the Kernan/Shepard Report question is #8. Please check out your own Senators survey and fill it out. In the comment section please let your Senator know you oppose unigov/Kernan/Shepard Report in that one elected official should not be in the position of appointing your county government officials. Also her #2. question asks about changing the Indiana Constitution on unequal tax caps. Please check it out. I answered leave our constitution alone and take time to figure out the tax code first, it's a mess. Please see your Republican Senator leadership at: http://www.in.gov/legislative/senate_republicans/2367.htm Take action please!! BOSTON TEA PARTY COMMEMORATION
On December 16, 1773, American colonists upset with heavy taxation, exemplified by several taxes, including the Stamp Act and the Townsend Acts, and a Tea tax, decided to make a protest statement to their British overlord about their taxed oppression. Various online and historical sources note that 3 ships, the Dartmouth, Eleanor, and the Beaver were boarded by protesters, referred to as the Sons of Liberty, and tossed 45 tons of British Tea into the Boston harbor. John Hancock, Samuel Adams, Paul Revere and other protesters, dressed as Mohawk Indians, disposed of 342 chests of tea worth an estimated one million dollars. This defiance against oppressive taxation is cited as the spark of the American Revolution. Of particular note, there were protests from Philadelphia to New York, each gaining attention and colonial agreement, prompted in large part by Britain’s oppressive Parliament and its many special interest groups and lobbyists compelling colonists to buy from the East India Company instead of buying cheaper from Holland and smugglers. The Governor echoed the British position and demanded the ships be unloaded, but who would have guessed protesters, under cover of night, would unload it into the water.
It is no secret that various taxes in today’s world, Americans work roughly 1/3 of their working life to support a government many feel has become abusive, inflated, mismanaged, and oppressive. Within Indiana, Tea Party dunking unfair tax assessments and widespread tax assessment disparities serve as a visible reminder that our lawmakers have failed to provide domestic tranquility and to insure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity. As in Boston, protesters are the first to illustrate the futility of a broken and abusive tax system.
Dec. 16th is worthy of annual commemoration for a catalyst that turned government oppression into freedoms exemplified in our governing documents of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights that spotlight the moral foundation of the liberties inherent in the People.

This is from the St. Louis Dispatch to one of our supporters (Roger T)... RE: How to write a letter to the Editor From the Editor of the Post Dispatch
We get hundreds of letters every week. Although we can’t answer or acknowledge each letter, we do read every one of them. We have space to publish only about 60 letters a week, so the competition is tough. Here are ten tips on getting your letter published:
1. Get to the point. The best letters are timely, straightforward and focused on a single issue.
2. Our standing limit for a letter is 250 words, but shorter is better. On occasion, we make exceptions. But the chances of a long letter being published are slim.
3. Be your own Editor. Letters are often written in the heat of the moment, so it’s a good idea to go back and review what you’ve written.
4. All letters are subject to editing for fact, grammar, length, clarity and taste.
5. It’s fair to criticize the ideas and arguments of others, but we don’t allow name-calling.
6. We don’t publish form letters, open letters or poetry. We never publish unsigned letters or those signed with pseudonyms.
7. No letter writer will be published more frequently than once every 60 days. The aim is to use as many writers as possible.
8. If you are responding to a specific article, letter or editorial, please include the date of its publication.
9. Your letter must include your address and a daytime phone number. Only your name and city of residence – not your address - will be published. [Use your community, such as University City instead of St. Louis, in your address.] If we’re considering your letter for publication, we will call you to verify your authorship and your willingness to see it in print. 10. You may send your letter to the editor by e-mail, fax or postal service. Mail: Letters to the Editor, St. Louis Post Dispatch, 900 North Tucker Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63101… Fax: 314-340-3139… E-mail: <letters@postdispatch.com> (E-mails should be in plaintext, not attachments.) A friend of mine put me on to an essay by Dmitry Orlov, an observer of the collapse of the Soviet economy, now an observer of ours. The entire essay was a fascinating read, even to this jaded reader, and is found here at energybulletin.com Orlov identifies five stages of collapse: financial, commercial, political, social, cultural. In the financial collapse phase, credit dries up, savings are wiped out, and frantic efforts to save solvency with liquidity cause hyperinflation. He takes for granted, reasonably enough, that the United States is well into this first stage already. In the next two stages, which Orlov asserts are totally unavoidable, supplies dry up (from lack of money, comes lack of products) and political corruption runs more rampant than ever. Both stages driven by financial collapse, Orlov says, they will overlap, and it isn't clear which will begin sooner. On commercial collapse:
On political collapse:
Orlov argues elsewhere that Russians, who housed three generations accustomed to hardship under one roof, were actually better prepared for collapse than Americans, who live alone or in nuclear families, spread out geographically. Where the Russian attitude was "life goes ever on," we will find ourselves stranded among strangers. In this newer essay, he states that to prevent this social collapse,
Do you think your web-based communities will ever be able to perform these functions? Please, stop dreaming. And what of the political collapse? Orlov says that this is when local politics will matter the most. The federal government will be deaf as ever to the public outcry, but municipalities will feel the distress as roads, sewer mains, and the like can no longer be maintained. Here in Michigan, we have Detroit and Flint backing up this prediction. So, in sum, the best steps to prepare for the inevitable are:
In other words, get to know your neighbors, and get involved in local politics. Precisely the short-term objectives of the Precinct Leadership program, incidentally. Categories: Campaign For Liberty Tags: |

In my opinion, it would appear that many of the problems we face today as a nation is a direct result of the citizens of this nation seeking leadership. Leadership, by my definition, is a means of delegating power to someone else to make decisions for you. By doing this, we sever any responsibility we may have for any situation for which we look to a leader for. There is a little test I like to ask before anyone makes a decision to allow someone else to run things for them, or more importantly, creates a law that forces everyone to be run by the same individual or entity. Simply put, do you think you can handle the situation that you are hiring the person or agency to handle as well as those you are hiring to do it for everyone? Do you feel that you're skilled at handling your retirement finances, the choice of school you send your children to, the subjectes they study, the health care you obtain, or negotiating the salary of your job? If the answer is no, then you've just indicated you lack the qualifications to select a surrogate to do it for everyone, not just yourself. The sad reality of your nation is that our leaders are selected by those who have no knowledge on how to operate what they're selected for and those who have the knowledge want nothing to do with the leader the uninformed asked for. This is a primary reason for all the inefficiencies and waste in our Government. Those who do the hiring have no idea what it takes to be good at the job being offered. Understandably, in any given subject, the expert is always the minority. The people capable of handling retirement finances are dwarfed by the individuals who spend all their money over the course of their lives and end up with nothing. I understand very well the desire to protect against an individual's waste as to allow the twilight years of life to be somewhat free of poverty and suffering. When seeking an expert to handle that which we don't understand, we run the risk of making a poor choice. However, this choice is only impacted on the one that made it. Others who chose a different expert may not have the problems and those who are capable of handling the situation on their own don't either. But, when a leader is selected, that risk is now spread to everyone, even those who otherwise know how to handle the situation alone. Combined with the general lack of knowledge on most subjects everone in this world has, the results are usually disastrous. What this round-about post is about is that we should never seek out leaders. Even people like Ron Paul, who have nothing but our best interest in mind, should never lead us. Instead, we should simply find those that inspire us to work for ourselves, to better ourselves and, by proxy, the society around us. Don't ask for leadership. The Campaign for Liberty has a specific, key word in its name, Liberty. Liberty is freedom. Freedom of choice, freedom to live life as you see fit, feedom from leaders selected by others. Politicians are our employees. We should ask them to perform the most bare minimum work possible. We do have to run the risk of chosing a bad proxy in certain aspects of life, like the military or the courts, as those aspects are unavoidable. Everything else, no leadership is needed. Ask for advice, surrogate your decision if you must, but don't sell out everyone else and realise that, ultimately, you don't need anyone to lead you anywhere. You can't see what is coming from ahead if you're standing behind someone else. Categories: Campaign For Liberty, Domestic Policy, Social Issues Tags: |

The Precinct Leader plants seeds in the neighborhood garden, cultivates and nurtures them, and watches them grow. The Precinct Leader is a good neighbor. A Precinct Leader makes the largest impact by simply connecting with neighbors. Meet a neighbor while out raking leaves, walking the dog, getting the mail, shoveling snow or mowing the lawn. Bring up something that affects the neighborhood and let them talk about it and you'll have an idea where they stand and what is important to them. Knowing about specific legislation that affects your neighborhood and keeping up with current events in your area is critical. That way, you can match the neighbor's concern with current and upcoming legislation. "Hey, did you know the city council just approved an increase in what we pay for trash collection? They're nickel and diming us to death." Listen to the neighbor's response and take note of it. If they are a hard-nosed tax and spender or don't want to talk about it, it's time to meet another neighbor. Listening to your neighbors is the key to good planting practices. Attending city or town council meetings is a great way to cultivate your garden. When you listen to what people have to say and watch their reaction to certain things being said, you will know who might be a good person or persons to approach after the meeting and talk a little further to plant a seed. "I can't believe they just approved that." Let the neighbor talk. "I live off of McGee Street. Where are you?" If they're in your precinct, they'll remember you when you do your door-to-door survey and other activities. In fact, they may offer to help you. They will recognize your name when they read your Letter to the Editor in the news. Precinct Leaders are instrumental in keeping tabs on what area representatives are doing, watching them closely, building a "file" on them and calling them out on their infractions. Letters to the Editor, radio call-ins and "tattling" to neighbors is effective and can even be fun. The whole point is to nurture, protect and cultivate your neighborhood garden. Before you know it, you'll be the person that neighbors come to when they want to talk about issues. They'll come to you because they know you care, that you listen to them, that you're knowledgeable and that you will take action to protect your neighborhood. You will be the person that neighbors come to when they learn of a new piece of legislation and wonder how it may affect them. They will want to know your thoughts on upcoming election issues and candidates. Your influence will be felt in the community and you may be asked to become a member of a board or even run for office. As a team, Precinct Leaders will come together at county- and district-wide meetings and in the state capitol for legislative sessions. Nationwide strategies will be employed. The more voices, the greater the impact. New faces and large crowds will keep local government on their toes. They are used to having people attend meetings near election time, but they are not used to us being there asking thoughtful questions between elections, where harmful legislation is many times passed virtually unnoticed. After this election, our neighbors will begin to realize that nothing has changed. They'll continue to complain. We'll continue to listen and plant our seeds, water them and feed them, and with time and patience, reap the rewards as we stand proudly together in our lush neighborhood gardens across the world. ...and the government knows it. "Rep. Frank predicted that any legislation aimed at toughening oversight would face little opposition in Congress, especially after lawmakers have effectively exposed taxpayers to hundreds of billions of dollars in potential new liabilities. 'We're beyond the point where anybody will stand up and try to block this,' he said." To the Editor and the people of Clay County: “The nation’s immediate problem is that while the common man fights America’s wars, the intellectual elite sets its agenda. Today, whether the West lives or dies is in the hands of its new power elite: those who set the terms of public debate, who manipulate the symbols, who decide whether nations or leaders will be depicted on 100 million television sets as ‘good’ or ‘bad.’ This power elite sets the limits of the possible for Presidents and Congress. It molds the impressions that move the nation, or that mire it.” Richard M. Nixon, 1980 As I drive all over the State of Indiana doing my job as the Director of Business Development for a local company, I speak with many individuals in government offices, community organizations, and the business sector. And, I am finding a consistency, and have been for quite some time, emanating from these various community leaders as well as from many Hoosier citizens. We have become anxious, depressed, and in some cases even terrified of what is happening around us that seems to be out of our control. I’ve seen business leaders on the verge of tears because of what is happening to their once stolid towns and cities. Last week’s bailout only brought into focus something that has been continuing for some time now. We’ve been losing our jobs, our marriages, our children, and even our lives to some sort of social demon that seems to be unchallengingly sucking the life right out of us. This is not my imagination. This is not conspiracy theory. This is not paranoia. Just ask your neighbor. He or she may not have expressed it as of yet, but there is a better than half chance that they have been thinking it. In these conversations, it always boils down to one common factor: What do we do? Is McCain the answer? Is Obama the answer? Who is going to fix this for us? The answer, I’m sorry to say, is that no one is going to fix this for us. We were once a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. However, because we have become accustomed to “letting the government do it for us,” such is no longer the case. What do we do? Well, we can take responsibility and try to take our Country back from those elements that have brought it to ruin. Who brought us the Federal Reserve, a foreign private bank that wields such power over our lives? Republicans and Democrats. Who brought us the “Free Trade Agreements” that freely take our goods and our jobs and our money to our enemy, The Communist Republic of China? Republicans and Democrats. Who brought us the role of policing the world and spending countless (and unaccountable) money to do so? Republicans and Democrats. Who pays for it in money and lives? Us, our children, and complete strangers in foreign lands. Who wants it? Not us. Who is profiting from it? Not us. What are our (seeming) choices in voting? Republicans and Democrats. Some of us call them Republicrats. There is much, much more to this story. Many of us are observing exactly the same things, but up until recently we’ve been afraid to voice it; someone might think badly of us. However, the Truth is, and always will be, the Truth. And it’s often difficult to consider and harder to take. This is not an advertisement…it’s a recommendation for where people like you and I can go to get some answers. Social events of seemingly biblical proportions are occurring all around us. Is it “that time?” I don’t know, but it doesn’t look good for us these days. But, if we’re tired of two choices to vote for, both of them distasteful, and we’re tired of sitting back and doing nothing while these terrible things occur all around us, we can start with a group of folks who are trying to do something about it. Search for “The Campaign for Liberty” on your computers, while you still can. Ask some questions. Get some answers. And consider your choices carefully. Tim Dyer Brazil, IN timd@thekingdomway.net And, folks, I might add as an addendum, this particular note: This is part of a post by GusCo: "A great deal of this energy being put into the nostalgia of an RP white house run needs to be focused on things that we can actually affect, namely, the growth of this movement, and ousting the anti-liberty legislators from our respective states. If we can do those things, there is a legitimate possibility that we can, at the risk of sounding cliché, take this country back. Right now we need to focus on the battles we can win. We need to organize locally and campaign against the reps and senators who voted for the Bailout. We need to strive to inform people who live their lives by the word of the MSM and their current politicians. The government thinks that we are stupid. Proving otherwise is the only immediate battle we can fight. Proving otherwise, will remind them of the fear and respect they should feel towards their constituents." This has been troubling me, in the back of my mind, until the light came on during my meeting with the editor of our local paper. Here it is: What GusCo wrote above is true, and we can see many similar statements being made. However, we're leaving out a critical component, a component which, if it's missing, will hinder any attempt at helping our Country recover. That component is that of our local communities' economies. People are hurting. Activism doesn't put bread in their bellies. So, I believe a necessary component of the C4L plan needs to involve having a plan to inspire our local economies to produce "made in the USA" goods. It can start small scale. As individuals, we need to do whatever we can to provide jobs for those without them. This is a part of what made America great - local entrepeneurship. I personally intend to harvest some trees from my property, have the wood cut and dried, hire a seasoned hardwood carpenter to train people, and start by hiring 1 or 2 people to make hand-crafted items for sale at the local Covered Bridge Festival, Popcorn Festival, etc. I will not accept any Govt. assistance to do so, even if I qualify. When I have the plan completely ready, I'll go to the local Chamber of Commerce meeting with it. Again, I won't accept any government-based monies, but I will accept contributions and pledges from those who want to help. Nobody is going to help our local economies recover - we're going to have to do that ourselves. To wait for a pie-in-the-sky factory job to be handed to us is ludicrous, especially if the factory is foreign-owned, and the money pours back out of the community along with our tax dollars. This is not just a political activism issue - it's a for-real economic issue as well. Think about it... The bailout has shown to us the friends of liberty, limited government, and traditional conservative values. Congressman [full name] is no friend of these. Instead Congressman [last name] has sided with the big government socialists, the subsidizers of failed businessmen, and those who support an ever expanding federal government. Congressmen and woman are to vote their conscience, yes, and respect the will of their constituents. This is truly reveling of the conscience of Congressman [last name]. I hope those of you who agree with me will not sit idle while our representatives sell us out to failed banks. Take Action! Join organizations such as campaignforliberty.com today.
